According to Boof Harry has a job ahead of him to get a run in the first test. Sounds like they wont be making any changes to the bowling line up.

same thing happened on the last tour

I don't think they think he can get through 5 tests in 7 weeks

Essex won toss and are fielding

Harris out with a sore knee against Essex. That just about confirms the first test bowling attack.

Anyway...Essex win the toss and field. Jesse Ryder opening the bowling. Quality attack this. :sarcasm:

I'm curious to see how Ryder goes with the bat, this is a perfect litmus test to see if he really could cut it against the best.

Gotta feel for Harry, I hope he gets a run in the Ashes but maybe being out for so long and trying to get match fit in a short period of time has affected his knee, its only knee soreness at this stage so no tissue damage, make you wonder if he would get through 5 days tho.

If I was Watson I would be pretty nervous about now but I still think the selectors will fancy him as they have shown in the past, but we need to see how he and MMarsh bowls.

Clarkies form is a bit of a worry.

The problem with picking Sunshine, is that he will know he is on notice, the bloke doesn't perform well under pressure. May as well tell him he is safe in the side for the next 12 months to get the best out of him (but then sack him as seen fit anytime)

With the exception of Starc, that was a pretty average bowling effort.

Watson no wickets but bowled pretty tight, MMarsh get belted as did Lyon.

24 byes in Essexs innings so far, thats quite high

We are either spraying it around or there has been some poor glovewook from Neville (or both)

Starc bowled absolute garbage early on, from the sounds of things, and 20 of 24 byes were off his bowling (but only one wide). Sounded like his first spell he was spraying it everywhere, whilst hazlewood was bowling well.

Pitch is quite flat, but not great signs all round.

Starc 1 nb and 1 wide , 2/26 he was by far the best economy rate of 2.08 as well, sounds like he didn't bowl too bad
