also makes you wonder how many no balls they let go when they dont get a wicket and dont ask for a review

bad bowling and bad umpiring

That's what I have been thinking too, it's ridiculous, and so are the commentators, this is what they should be complaining about, not the umpire's wanting to get the decision right when they call a wicket.

Oh and dissing smiling right now is also ridiculous.

i was wondering that too

they clearly aren't calling close ones. they can only review them though if a wicket is taken

perhaps they would call them if they could review them if they did call no ball and a wicket was taken

And THAT is why I have a problem with umpires being allowed to refer the no-ball upstairs.
I think that's a big reason why they should be able to, we need someone to enforce the rules of the sport, you know to umpire the game.

they can only refer ones they don't call

if they could refer it both ways i think they would call more no balls

as it is they seem to deliberately not call close ones in case there is a wicket as they can refer it

when there is an inch plus in it it is definitely a no ball and should be called such. It doesn't matter whether or not they can refer it
