Funny how little the people from nsw seem to understand the game of cricket.
Yes McDoanald went out for a duck but at least he was out off a gem of a delivery compared to Hughes who played one of the worst shots i've ever seen. Not to mention the fact that he's still to bowl.
Next for his selection. Averaging 44.5 with the bat this year compared to Norths 38.85 and 22 wickets at 21.32 with an economy of 2.62 compared to Bollingers 18 @ 23.72 with an economy of 2.94. So to say that he doesn't deserve selection just smacks of pure bias against Victorians. Compared to Bollinger he deserves to be in there on his bowling alone and compared to North he deserves to be in there for his batting. Not to mention in the last test he took more wickets for less runs than Bollinger even if he was unlucky with a few lbw appeals.
As for blaming it all on Merv how hard is it for you all to understand that Boon is the selector on tour and along with Ponting and Nielson makes the final choice on who plays and who doesn't.

Here, have a tissue so you can wipe your chin.

Aren't you the dribbler that reckoned County cricket was almost the same as International???? Or was that Evotard.??? Funny the only people who think Ronny is up to test standard are Victorians.......

No i don't think county is the same as international cricket.
And way to ignore the actual facts...
His form warranted as much selection if not more than Both North and Bollinger. The simple fact that he bowled better than Bollinger in the last test is also there. And have a look at the pitch, its already riddled with cracks which Mcdonald is more likely to exploit with his style of bowling than Bollinger, not to mention the fact that he can move the ball both ways as well.

David Boon, Ricky Ponting, Tim Neilson, Jamie Cox and Andrew Hilditch

None are Victorians, all think McDonald is up to test standard

What you have nothing to rebut the post with so you go strait for the name calling.

It is funny that it is only NSW people who think their players have a right to play for Australia no matter how bad they are.

Bollinger has been one of the form quicks in the Sheffeid Sheild the last 2 years, Ronny is just not fast enough to trouble world class batsman. He might do well in FC cricket but blind freddie can see he is not a test players arsehole. Plus him batting at 8 means he is playing a a bowler who can bat a bit. If he is a better bowler than Dougie, Flogball is a watchable sport.

Actually Hiney, what we are witnessing is a number od people telling us that Hughes was a poor selection and a waste of space.

I'm assuming then that this is their final verdict.

One of you Victorians said it, not sure who, not sure i care. So are you saying Hughes didn't deserve to be there???? Only one man had scored more runs for games played in Shield cricket up till Hughes debut and that was the Don. Wank off all you want about Ronny but he is not test standard, just like White ,Dussy ,Podge........

I was going to say the same thing.

Any group of selectors that went with Cameron White for 3 straight Tests in India have lost credibility forever.

And that was pretty much reaffirmed by their decision to reinstate the great Nathan Hauritz after dropping Krejza one Test removed from a 12-wicket haul.

Now whether we think Krejza is Test standard or not is irrelevant when you consider that he was dropped for the ultra promising long term prospect that is Nathan hauritz who had been blitizing it in grade cricket i assume.

The selectors are pathetic and im certain that we could put together a better panel made up of members on here.

I guess you missed the last test match where he got Kallis out so obviously getting one of the best batsman in the world out as well as Alma i guess he's just a sh*t bowler who could never do well in test cricket. And as i pointed out so far this year in sheild cricket Mc Donald has the better stats than Bollinger so on current form he's ahead there. As for his pace, well there have been a few bowlers over the years who have troubled batsmen at that speed

What we are witnessing is Victorians in all their clueless glory. No one on here said Hughes didn't play a poor shot. But to pot a 20 yeard old after one innings after the start to FC cricket he has had is just stupid.

Did Ronny have 3 plumb LBW's turned down and 2 or 3 catches dropped???? He bowled ok on a pitch that looked like a jigsaw, can't wait to watch him bowl his 124km's thunderbolts on a good even wicket :? Honestly if you think he is a better bowler than Bollinger you have rocks in your head..........

And yet it seems enough to say Mc Donald can't bat after just 2 innings for all the people from NSW.
I'm not saying that he can't bat because he's shown enough that he can actually bat at sheild level I’m just putting it all into perspective the people saying Mcdonald is sh*t. Another comparison is Michael Hussy. 1 and 29 in his first two innings... So before you all claim McDonald is nothing but sh*t how about giving him a few more innings with the bat not to mention the ball

The pitch with the Grand Canyon down the middle for right-handers? Where Doug had two pumb LBWs turned down and a simple catch dropped?
