One of you Victorians said it, not sure who, not sure i care. So are you saying Hughes didn't deserve to be there???? Only one man had scored more runs for games played in Shield cricket up till Hughes debut and that was the Don. Wank off all you want about Ronny but he is not test standard, just like White ,Dussy ,Podge........

Did I say Hughes did not deserve to be there? If he continues to fail then I will start to question his selection in the team.

I know Dougie did not deserve his shot.

How did Hodge not deserve his shot at playing for Australia? He has had one of the best record in this country over the last 5+ years.

You say McDonald is not test standard but he played a better game in Sydney than Dougie boy and he was not picked in the team as a specialist bowler. At least McDonald can offer a bowler that will hit his spot time and time again as only he and Siddle seem to be able to do that in the team. It creates pressure and wickets may fall.

What we are witnessing is Victorians in all their clueless glory. No one on here said Hughes didn't play a poor shot. But to pot a 20 yeard old after one innings after the start to FC cricket he has had is just stupid.
No what we are witnessing is NSW hypocrisy in all its glory

Lets bash a guy in his 2nd test match batting at no8 but there is nothing wrong with the NSW player on debut making just as many runs

Why does a 20 year old on debut get so much more leeway than anothe player on debut? Its not like McDonald is over 30 and its his only chance?

I dont think anyone is really bashing Hughes, just finding it funny and also using him to point out your hypocrisy

And yet it seems enough to say Mc Donald can't bat after just 2 innings for all the people from NSW.
I'm not saying that he can't bat because he's shown enough that he can actually bat at sheild level I’m just putting it all into perspective the people saying Mcdonald is sh*t. Another comparison is Michael Hussy. 1 and 29 in his first two innings... So before you all claim McDonald is nothing but sh*t how about giving him a few more innings with the bat not to mention the ball
Comparing Ronny to Hussey :lol: Hussey had scored more FC than anyone before his Test Debut, Ronny is handy player at FC level nothing more. Only Victorians can't see this......

Yeah a pitch that could very likely be the exact copy of the pitch they are playing on right now which is already cracking up and will have uneven bouce for the rest of the test. So yes i do think it was advantages to pick him for this particular pitch.
Would i say all out he's a better bowler than Bollinger no he's not but McDonald is a very good bowler in his own right and i am saying that on form this year he has done slightly better which the statistics show and deserves his selection.

BTW 1 last word on the Dougie v McDonald selection, what chances did Ricky Ponting have of avoiding suspension if they picked 4 quick bowlers?

And after seeing what happened in India, there is little doubt that was on his mind

I spose its because hughes is twenty and has scored more centuries already than McDonald ever did

I spose its because Bollinger has been bowling better in shield cricket and deserved a shot over a bit part bowler such as McDonald.

And as JOhnson has shown we didnt need Mcdonald for the batting lineup at all

 If Ronny was not a Victorian he wouldn't be playing, .! Batting him at 8 is not fair on him at all, either he bats at 6 or he doesn't play at all IMO. He is not good enough bowler to be in the top 4, and if he isn't good enough to bat in the top 6 he shouldn't be there.

Oh thats right, the great NSW equation of Merv Hughes has more power than the 3 other selectors including the chairman combined

No he shouldnt be playing as a bowler, they should be playing McGain, but they decided the pitch wont take spin so a seamer was needed, Dougie aint a seam bowler, Dougie wont hit the cracks accurately and bowl as economically as Macca and Macca wont get the captain suspended

The only fact you can have is that if he had been from NSW he would have played for Australia at least 4 years ago.

Otherwise playing for Victoria is a mark against his name not anything that helps him get a game.

Maybe just Maybe he is the best available all rounder in the country atm and if Australia want one in the team he is the best bet. Moses has not done anything yet to justify his selection in the team, Which I am sure the selectors were heartbroken about. I am waiting for him to get a 4 wicket game, 20 run so they can slip him into the team.
