apologies if addressed already in the thread, but does anyone know if the cricket australia app will still live stream the match now that its on fox/7?
Cricket Australia has sparked fresh ire from fans after switching mobile streaming rights to a new more expensive subscription platform as part of its $1.2 billion broadcast deal.
Cricket Australia has dumped international games from its Cricket Live app meaning fans will now either have to subscribe to Foxtel or its streaming offshoot Kayo Sports to watch this summer's matches against India and Sri Lanka on their mobile or tablet. The first test against India starts on Thursday.
A one year subscription to Cricket Live, which will still broadcast domestic games, was sold for $29.99 while Kayo, which offers a much broader range of sports beyond cricket, costs $25 a month.
Seven has the rights to show Tests and 43 Big Bash matches on television, though does not have digital rights so won't have them on catch-up app 7plus.
The sporting code receives some revenue from Kayo Sports for each person who subscribes to watch through the app and now prompts fans to get a subscription to the streaming platform.
The fan said he was offered a partial refunf on a pro-rata basis when he contacted Cricket Australia. He said his subscription started in mid-January and he wanted a full refund
He watched five days of cricket at the end of last summer and had expected to watch much more this season with his subscription active until mid-January. “I should get back 95 per cent based on days of cricket elapsed rather than 10 per cent based on days of the year,” he said. He has reported his concerns to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.
Other fans took to social media and message boards to rail against the changes, with one suggesting Kayo Sports should provide a cheaper subscription option just for access to cricket games.
Foxtel’s aggressive move to lure in new subscribers over the cricket season on its new “Netflix of sport” streaming platform has been warmly welcomed by other fans and industry members who see the ability to have multiple games streaming at once on one screen to be a “game changer” for sports and see value in accessing multiple sporting codes for the price.
We understand our fans may be disappointed with this decision however we are in partnership with Fox Cricket and we believe that viewing habits will continue to evolve.
A Cricket Australia spokesman said subscribers were being refunded on a pro-rata basis, with the sport stopping new sign ups early with a “minimal number of people affected” though declined to disclose figures.
The most recent Cricket Australia annual report said 1.2 million people used the app over summer, though did not specify how many were paid subscribers.
“We understand our fans may be disappointed with this decision however we are in partnership with Fox Cricket and we believe that viewing habits will continue to evolve,” the spokesman said.
Domestic games will be available for free on Cricket Live app, including the JLT Cup and Sheffield Shield Final.

But he was from WA.Laird didn't have big levers, therefore is shit.

They had like 7 of the test team at one stage, no?But he was from WA.
And they batted him at 4 just a couple of tests ago as if the humiliation wasn't enough already. Its a dream for the rest of the world but a nightmare for us Aussie fans.
Henry Lawson called him out having enough chances and not being near good enough. An average of 26 after 30 tests is embarrassing.

Kohli hitting them sweet in the nets
While it's a good decision he is the better brother

But but but but he was an AFL junior star.....Yeah, nah.
SDarsh is solid enough, and can bat anywhere in the order really. Problem is he often scores runs in clusters and then has a lean patch. Plus he gets out in dumb ways, but he is currently in a lean patch so he's due, and he enjoys home conditions.
MitchDarsh has only played 6 fewer tests, averages 10 runs less, has the lowest average of any top 6 bat in history and has passed 30 a dozen times in 51 innings. He also looks like Bullwinkle's chromosomally challenged second cousin.
