First day of the summer!

How good is it that because of the BCCI myself and every other fan who works 9-5 won’t see a single ball of the first two days!

Really looking forward to seeing some of this - regardless of who'd playing, Australia take some beating at home, and that pace attack will keep them in the game

Shame Shaw's out, would be a good test for him to see where he's at

A mere quarter of an hour into Seven's coverage debut and Fleming is already talking VFL.

As far as the Tests are concerned at least, FM it's nice to have another option.

Tuned in just in time to see Hazelwood strike. What a bowler.

For some reason, I thought it wasn't starting for another 20 minutes.

Who is the 5th bowling option? Or has Australia just accepted that they don't have one in not selecting Mitchell Marsh?

Yes Yes. Good start. Always good to have a wicket early.

Watching the Fox Coverage at a pub, cant hear commentary, so good I wont hear any AFL dribble.

I presume Head/Finch will trundle out a few overs if needed.

Realistically that's all you need as a fifth bowling option in tests, just a few overs here and there.

Well, that's all Marsh ever did. Never bowled more than 18 overs. Tends to bowl less than 10.

Does Marsh present himself as an aspiring bowling all rounder or an aspiring batting all rounder?

Well, that's all Marsh ever did. Never bowled more than 18 overs. Tends to bowl less than 10.

Even Shane Watson, who was a far better bowler than Mitch Marsh and actually offered something with the bat, only ever bowled more than 20 overs three times. Although he did bowl exactly 20 quite a few times.

But this attack is pretty strong, and we almost never had a genuine fifth bowler in test matches before Flintoff destroyed us. We just got by with handy guys like the Waugh brothers, Martyn, even Hussey and Ponting. The obsession with a genuine all rounder is silly unless you have one.
