yeah, with the bat which probably also shouldn't be allowed (unless it's the first hit of the ball) given hitting the ball twice is meant to constitute a dismissal

You're actually allowed to hit the ball again with the bat to guard your wicket. You just can't hit it twice to try to score runs.

You can basically do anything to protect your stumps except use a hand that's not on the bat, as long as you don't obstruct the field in the process.

PONTING of all people is getting on top of them. Cowan has been Lawryesque but hardly troubled all day.

And there is no way we're getting through Tendulkar, Sehwag, Laxman, Dravid and co TWICE on anything less than a greentop.
Why does everyone hate Langer so much these days?
Hughes. Khawaja. To name a few. He's done great things with the young talent that's been delivered to him...
