i was thinking the same myself,did they give any explanation as to why cutting was left out, i thought he would be in for sure.

my mum is not normal, she finally sat down to watch and she gave me this spiel about the Aussie team being filled with uggos, she said every other national team has good looking players except for Australia and then she saw Williamson, thought he was ugly and said he belonged in the Aussie team. Then she went on her anti-Tubby rant. She really dislikes Mark Taylor and thinks he adds nothing to commentary and doesn't understand how anyone can like him.

I remember the Pommie journo's running an article during the 1993 Ashes that compared their players to the Aussies based on looks, complete with a little description of each player. Pretty funny stuff.

I think they always said Pattinson would be next in line, and Starc adds a bit more variety than Cutting being a tall left-armer.

Benaud made the point that Siddle wouldn't have batted as high as 8 in a while though. Cutting would have made that lower order look a bit stronger.

Not a bad session for either team. Without putting too much pressure on our bowlers, but this deck is doing all sorts and if NZ get to lunch at 2/80 or whatever they finish at, then I think they would be very happy.

Any seam bowler who hits the spot, and Vettori will be very usefull here.

We need another wicket here before lunch if we can. McCullum is a big wicket, but another one before the break will have us on top fairly comfortably.

Clarke's captaincy can't be defended, it's as bad as Ponting's and it has been blatantly evident from very early on.

You were saying? Used the spinner very well, got him on early set him a field to attack to and got the wicket.

Williamson looked good before that, he'll be class.

Starc has looked rubbish and for all his good performances Pattinson hasnt looked great, but they're only young. Wish we'd played Cutting
