Malcolm Conn #cricket #ausvnz The push for change is sweeping Australian cricket. Look for Pattinson, Starc and Cutting all to be named in the Test 12.

From Twitter.

If true I am completely lost to how Copeland has fallen off the radar.

Maybe he's also there and Siddle will pay for his uselessness?

Don't rate Starc as a Test bowler though.

Hilfy's career is over by the looks of it. Good bowler but when he couldn't get it to swing he wasn't effective.

Copeland looks like going down the Beau Casson route.

No Copeland? That's criminally unfair. Solid series in SL, relegated to first reserve, now he's... what? 8th in line? 9th?

Sucks to be Copeland.

does but his has struggled to take wickets in his last few games for NSW and Australia. I am worried that Pattinson, Starc and Cutting all got carted for aout 5runs/over in the Aussie A match. I expect Pattinson and Starc to partner Siddle. More importantly Hazelwood is destroying WA in Shield today, has 4 wickets with three of them coming back in a bowling the batsmen.

So the team will be.

1. Hughes
2. Warner
3. Khawaja
4. Ponting
5. Clarke
6. Hussey
7. Haddin
8. Siddle (Lets face it we are not going to have an attack without a quick whose played tests)
9.
10.
11.

Last three spots to be taken by Cutting, Pattinson, Lyon and Starc. There is a small chance if the deck is green (and with Watson out), that we may play an all out pace attack.

My prediction is Cutting (Cause hes a qlder), Lyon (spin) and Starc (left armer) will fill the final 3 with Pattinson 12th man.

To be fair it's a real green top at the SCG due to the rain, but Haze is probably the best of the young crop long term (and yes that includes Cummins).

Maybe the view with Copeland is that he's the type of bowler NZ'ers cut their teeth on, accurate, medium pace. From what I saw of him in SL, I don't think he's ever going to get a bag of wickets at Test level - very respectable bowler but he's not quick enough. His success at Shield level probably says more about the quality of batting in the Shield than anything else.

It would have been good to at least test the theory, SA and the Gabba were perfect places to do so. I'd say Copeland now has a red line through his name no matter how well he performs.
