Maddison shouldn't have been picked and must be dropped. If you're mediocre at shield level chances are you won't be good at test level. He's a limited overs players.

Renshaw and Handscomb are the real deal and their success just means Maddinson has no excuses. You ether have what it takes or you don't.

I still think they were incredibly harsh on Ferguson who's averaged 50 in FC cricket the past few years.

Far superior to anything a genuine plod like Maddinson has done.

He's only just turned 32 so with genuinely talented young blood in Renshaw and Handscomb debuting I don't see why they didn't persist with Ferguson.

A run out and a failure when the team scored about 300 runs over 2 innings and he's dropped. Brutal.

If they wanted a bloke the wrong side of 30 who has been averaging 50+ they probably would have kept Voges.

The Maddinson bit is right though. He's hit and miss in the BBL so it's no surprise he can't handle test cricket. Not yet anyway.

Id give him the series. His FC record isnt flash but he has talent no doubt.

He has had to bat at night twice and once where we were being aggressive. That way we can put the red line through him until he lifts his game
