Not that Im in Sri Lanka's corner here, but the strategy for them should be to bat until tea tomorrow, see how many wickets are left, not worry about the runs that much, bat naturally, unless there is a collapse of 3/4 wickets.

If only 4 wickets are down at tea tomorrow, there should be safety

EDIT lbw appeal, referred an inside edge- crap
Just had one of them feelings,Lankans full capable of doing this I reckon. Now bring on the collapse haha.

he is a bit like Notch, he can bowl an unplayable delivery then crap for the rest of his spell

he is a work in progress atm and no doubt he will mature and become more consistent and I hope its sooner rather then later as our bowlers are dropping like flies

Yep, agreed.

He has his Johnson-esque days, but does have a bit more consistency about him, bowls a very good line when on song and has a much better action/release then Johnson who really has no idea how to keep the seam up.

I cannot believe we've already wasted a f*cking review on something like that. FMD

That was crazy.

Clarkey had blokes around him saying that it sounded like he hit it, then about 3 bloody minutes later he calls for the review.

The next Australian captain with the big wicket! Beautiful cutter. Watto: Can bowl can't bat.
If Cook doesn't get runs, England struggle.

The similarities between them and Aus are quite remarkable with the make ups of the respective teams.

If Clarke doesn't get runs, we struggle.

Lyon - Swan are good cricketers but aren't game breakers unless the pitch is bs

Broad - Johnson/Starc very erratic but can break a game wide open with quality spells of unplayable bowling

Finn - Siddle will run in all day and bowl line and length

Anderson - Hilf hard to play when the ball swings. When it doesn't, they might as well just focus on their batting

Wade - Prior Can be good and bad with the gloves. Can also make a contribution with the bat... or not. Depends on what kind of day they're having.

Watson - Bresnan haha, imagine how pissed Watson would be. He's about on par with Bresnan as an 'all rounder' at the moment. Good for 20 or 30 then out doing something stoopid.

Warner - Pietersen Both capable of destroying a bowling attack on any pitch, anytime, anywhere. Not consistent and wouldn't want either batting for your life

Hughes - Bell Can't understand how either of them play test cricket

Cowen - Compton Deers in headlights. See off the new ball.
So much stupid in the bolded bits. Swann is the best spinner in the world. Lyon is a mediocre straight slow bowler.

Anderson is elite, Hilfenhaus is not.

Bell averages 46 in test cricket ffs. He's a great batsman. And Hughes has shown he more than belongs in his 1st test back.

Indeed. We should have the Ashes every year as far as im concerned.

It's funny how all we want is cricket played between 2 teams where most matches are competitive.

They should have 3 test series each every year with Aus, Eng, SA and whoever else is the least useless - 3 in each country to determine who the best test nation is.

I'd pay to watch that.

How can I argue with the authority on all things stupid.

I can't believe you didn't rate my cutting-edge analysis.

Most of those mentioned won't even play a test in the ashes but I can assure you that your feedback has been passed on to my quality assurance team for follow up.

Pakistan right now. I am holding out hope for West Indies to come good soon. India might take a couple of years, need Sachin to retire first and to quit fooling themselves and learn how to field. Sri Lanka I hope can sort their shit out too. I would love to see everyone competitive, but that does not look likely in the foreseeable future

Yeah, it seems like a lot of teams are regressing. You would have thought that the cricketers would just be getting better and better but most if not all of these teams would be mediocre in any other era.

The cricketing authorities need to understand how important test cricket is to the cricketing purists which would still make up the majority of fans (imo).

5 days worth of unbroken concentration and execution of skills and tactics is far more enthralling than 2 hours of closing your eyes and swinging at everything.
