The question here with a Wagner and Patel bowling partnership is who is attacking and who is tying up an end?

Wagner's bowling ok here- somewhat all sizzle, no steak, but he's generating some heat. Still, we need a breakthrough here and I'm not sure Wagner's the guy that'll get it.

Wagner gets the breakthrough.

Southee gets Chandimal. Big wicket. Patel takes a catch down in deep square leg

Do you blokes rate Wagner?

It's a funny thing. I don't think he's a great bowler. Not a lot of variety. A real plodder. But he somehow manages to get the breakthrough wicket fairly often and not with a great ball.

Southee picks up Matthews. That's his 5th. Big wicket.

Very good innings from Matthews. Came onto the park with his side in all sorts at 9/3. They're not in a great position with him walking off the park, but it's nowhere near as dire.

Real featherbed of a pitch I feel. Southee has been excellent and a clear stand out. The others have been too leg side or bowled too many rank half volleys.

de Grandhomme the villain of the day. How vital would that wicket have been in the 20th over?

Patel needs to bowl a couple if only to help us bowl enough overs today
