Here we go again.

Gone from 1/160 to 5/171, losing 4/11.

Another typical Australian batting collapse (which we've seen too many times over the past decade) on the cards.

Ellyse Perry and Meg Lanning would be better selections than some of these blokes.

Yes, I'd have no problem with either of them drafted into the men's side at the expense of Langer's favourites, especially Perry.

Without Steve Smith there, we're really going to struggle this summer. Smith (and to a lesser extent Warner before his form slump in the months leading up to the sandpaper incident) papered over the cracks of our vulnerable batting order, which hasn't been addressed since the last couple of years of Ponting's captaincy.

At least Perry has the talent and determination to put up a fight against these Pakistani bowlers.

lol, Langers pick out 2nd ball.

How does a bloke with a FC average of 34 make the test side??? Seriously, the 1984 Aussie team would beat this mob now.

Staggered. He bats on Australian Super Highways and averages 34. He’s a dud selection. I feel for blokes like Cox, Siddons, Love, Lehman, who never got a gig or only belatedly got a gig, when utter duds like this chap gets a shot.

The 1984 mob would crap all over this current side. Even post Chappell/Lillee/Marsh, they were still a good side that unfortunately came up against the West Indies during their peak in back-to-back test series.

I mean, could you imagine Funch/Marsh boys/Ploduschagne et. al go up against Marshall/Holding/Garner/Walsh? They'd be shitting their pants before even walking out to face their first ball.

Renshaw has to come into the side. Only question is who goes out. Got a smorgasbord to choose from.
Probably head. Labu took a couple of wickets at least.

This. Not only that, but state cricket contracts are substantially more than they were 20+ years ago. Back then, it was playing for Australia or nothing; you couldn't make a living solely from only playing state/domestic cricket. Now because of T20, rise of BCCI, and the dramatic increase in tv rights has led to the rise of freelance cricketers raking in the dollars without representing their country.

Yeah, feel for the likes of those players in the '90s who never wore the baggy green or only had limited opportunities, despite piling on thousands of runs in Shield and County Cricket on lively pitches. Way too many to name...

How did we end up with twin Marshtards batting 3 and 4? A batsman's place in the batting order is not supposed to be the same number as their batting average.

You need to think of how nice this team is now...and how harmonious the dressing room is.....

That's what's really important.
