I reckon we will see Johnson take 7 for 7 in a minute, masterclass seam and swing bowling, propelling Australia to a 1-0 series lead

The fact that Hughes is out of your side before Haddin is a joke.

In case you didn't notice, in our 2nd Innings Hughes topscored out of the batsmen. And let me remind you he scored a century in his previous test.

If he shows nothing this summer then sure get rid of him but not until then.

But I do completely agree with your other changes.

I would agree...problem is Tim Paine is a week or 2 away from playing any cricket, although I'd be happy to see Matthew Wade there for a short period, he is no worse than Haddin. Please tell me you are not celebrating a score of 9...and he was dropped on 2! Hughes has been severly found wanting, I would rather a steadier opener not a flashy type. Why should he get the flat ass pitches in Australia to feast on when he has to play in SA and England where he is utterly woeful when the ball moves around.

He'd still be better than Haddin..would Paine try and hit the ball to the other side of SA with the score 4 for bugger all?

and Wade would be better than him most probably, so why wait for his hand to heal? Get Matty and Dave on a plane tomorrow morning.

By that logic every top 7 player should be dropped except for Clarke.

But back to the test as a whole...how the f**k does a 188 run 1st innings lead turn into a 9 wicket loss. I'd be a rich man if I put 20 bucks on us losing by 9 wickets after we bowled them out.

And Johnson, 9 overs 0-54, fmd.

I reckon this game has knocked the stuffing out of Clarke, he would have been on cloud 9 after his knock and then rolling them for 96 but to lose this test the way we have is demoralizing.

Looking forward to the next test to see how we recover or if we recover. Can't see many changes being made except for Khawaja for Marsh TBH.

Lol, if ponting was captain you lot would be calling for his head. Clarke is showing he's no f**king better. Utter capitulation, stupid bowling by bowlers who don't understand how to bowl intelligently and to a set field. Nor di they learn from their mistakes. And clarke won't change his fields or his bowlers. Bad bowling, bad captaincy and aside from Clarke's streaky first innings, bad batting all around

I wouldn't be surprised if that is the mindset of the selectors too, with only forced changes to be made.

Johnson for mine appears to be a protected species at the moment. He'll have to probably endure a Mark Taylor in 1997 type slump before even considerations are made to drop him, and then won't happen.
