Its a nonsense argument. Any new team coming in, from anywhere, will be signing established NRL & SL first graders for the first few years. Its what happens from year 5+in regards to developing own, and that requires some serious work and investment both from the new club in its elite pathway programs and the NRL in increasing Jnr participation rates in that region.

I still find it laughable to have ( a truly national comp) there's no such thing really. The AFL are chuffed that they can call their comp "truly national " now they are putting in Tasmania ...

The NRL can Literally say " it's an international comp" why don't they? Because it means nada!
When it's all said and done, this national strategy that the AFL has, has a major flaw .. expansion to places just to fill dots on a map like GC , GWS and Hobart gives an odder to them, a forced expansion that lacks authenticity.
The NRL asked for bids, it comes from the people that demand inclusion and want to prove their value.
