My List in order:

  1. Oasis - Don't Believe the Truth
  2. Audioslave - Out of Exile
  3. The White Stripes - Get Behind Me Satan
  4. Coldplay - X&Y
  5. Pluto - Pipeline Under the Ocean
  6. Fat Freddy's Drop - Based on a True Story
  7. The Rolling Stones - A Bigger Bang
  8. The Finn Brothers - Everyone is Here
  9. Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
  10. Jack Johnson - In Between Dreams
Granted that 10 is a stretch but there has been some pretty good albums released this year. The top 5 would rank up there with some of the best albums I've heard in a number of years but then again I'm not a fan of modern music so read in to that what you will.

I'm sorry folks but Wolfmother is just crap.

At least Jet are derivative in a fun way.

I'd have to pick:
Supergrass
Sufjan Stevens
Pernice Brothers
New Pornographers
Brendan Benson
Weezer

I'l tell you what Mr Carcharias - seeing as quite a few mentioned You Am I's Hi Fi Way in the perfect album thread, I'm going to download it and have a listen.

You know I don't only listen to metal don't you?

You should buy it seeing how they are Aussies but if you do enjoy it that'll do me.

It was released in 94 ...keep that in mind.

These were the only new albums I listened to this year (in order of my preference):

1. Billy Corgan - The Future Embrace
2. Sigur Ros - Takk
3. Ben Lee - Awake Is The New Sleep
4. Foo Fighters - In Your Honor
5. Coldplay - X&Y
6. Queens Of The Stone Age - Lullabies to Paralyse

I believe next year I will be more active however.

It was a quiet year for decent releases, IMO. My two faves were:

Distant Sense Of Random Menace - Urthboy (from The Herd)

and, surprisingly:

Awake Is The New Sleep - Ben Lee

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois (great travelling music)
Clutch - Robot Hive
Van der Graaf Generator - Present
Opeth - Ghost Reveries (haven't listened to it enough yet, but Opeth is Opeth)
Kate Bush - Aerial

And I gotta buy the last three years of Cuneiform releases... been out of that scene for too long.

good to see naohter person appreciate just how awesome comeback kid is and how great wake the dead is.

loving the new bullet for my valentine album. they seem to have embraced the new "metalcore" sound and pull it off brilliantly.
