Get over it smartarse.

I wasn't being a smart arse. i do appreciate your efforts on the crowd watch.

BTW people, the round was not that bad.

Remember for the seasons we were getting 15k or 16k averages we were getting 3 or 4 games of 9-12k and then a couple of big ones. Now we are seeing almost every game actually average 18k plus a big bumper crowd somewhere along the line.

Look to good things for the crowd averages this year.

Second lowest crowd of the round comes from a rugby league stronghold. Note to the NRL - Newcastle isn't a good location for Monday night games.

Mercifully Round 7 is over. Absolutely appaling attendances. The average of about 18,00000 looks OK til your realise al of Knights, Cowboys, Broncos, Souths, Dogs were at home and Roosters V Dragons was ANZAC Day.

Crowd at Penrith looked very ordinary but haven't seen a figure.

I must admit I've never been to Penrith, but is the reserved seating obscenely expensive or something? Looked kinda weird with those big empty sections in the middle...

Is Newy's average crowd down this season? It seems to me that it is.

Yes it is down so far from 2006's 21,848 to 2007's 19,947 after 4 home games. We really need powerhouses like The knights and Cowboys, who are also marginally below 20,000 after 4 games, to be firing and bringing in 20K+.

From what im told it was to do with the Panthers rise in 2003 and once upon a time those 3 middle sections were un reserved.
I think they should scrap making them reserved.

Just thought id see what the difference is when you remove the titans from the crowd figures and compare them to last years (when the titans werent part of the comp).

Without them the crowd avg is 17,236.

That means we are travelling about the same as 2006 (avg 17,342). Well done to the NRL for admitting the titans.

I'd like to know how you're getting different figures to me? Am I missing 100 people somewhere?

Interesting point. In truth we are more or less where we were last year apart from the Titans who are playing to almost 25,000 people per game on average - second only to the Broncos. The Titans so far are a huge success.

We always hope for better but frankly I'll be pleased if the home and away average reaches 16,000 which would be about 300 up on last year.

Re poor crowds at Penrith. The answer is Parramatta and Penrith should amalgamate to become the western Panthers. That will double their crowds and free up a franchise for the Central Coast.

. You're delusional. Parramatta and Penrith both cover areas with more people than the CC by a comfortable margin and are the largest junior catchments in Sydney.

Interesting aside-If norths Managed to stay solvent in 1999, the Panthers would have got the arse from the comp, and Parra and Penrith probably would be merged.

No, it won't.

All it will do is give the AFL disenfranchised NRL supporters to latch onto just like they did during Super League.

If a Parra and Penrith merger was announced, there'd be a Western Sydney AFL team within minutes of the announcement.

Well, at least Vlad wouldn't have been lying when he said 'the Kangaroos will not move to the Gold Coast'
