Whatever happens everyone .. Let's all have a laugh at the 48000 at ANZ for the Wallabies v France game last Saturday

I agree.....that should be the real story.

It seems like a new tactic from RL to lay the boot into fans everytime they don't sell out a game.

Maybe if they reduced ticket prices they would sell it out everytime!

76,000 had been sold as of yesterday. So there is only about 7000 tickets left. I am sure that they will sell half of that before kickoff if the sky stay's clear.

Just another daily terror beat up!!! The paper is going from bad to worse!

76000 is a great crowd!

Have the Rah Rahs even sold out the 2nd test at suncorp?

Went to game one, and I am honestly looking forward to the couch tonight with a few beers where I can concentrate on the game a bit more, this will rate over 3million nationally , so if there is 2000 seats left up in the bleachers who really gives a toss...

imo we will just fall short of 80k

nonetheless good crowd, i guess the 30-0 scoreline may have scared a few off though

Having gone to Origin 2 and 3, I heard the "New South Wales" chant more tonight at ANZ than I did the "Queenslander" chant at Suncorp.

And so theshould be at least 78000 fans in the Rugby League heartland of the world.
Good atmosphere it looked on tv but a average game apart from Israel Folau AFL style try.

I wish all N.S.W. games where that size.

Anyone with eyes to see only needs to look at the annual collapse in NRL round on round attendances to realise the damage SOO does to the comp.

What other self respecting sport allows a series of exhibition games take the attention from the heart of the league season? NONE. Only rugby league can shoot itself in the foot with annual regularity.

The money raised and the want of players to play in it (thus keeping more in our game) along with the fact that millions love it, far outweighs the dip in crowds (that may happen anyway mid year) for club matches in my opinion.

OK fanatique, let's dump the most profitable, watched and loved games of rugby league each year because you think they take away from what's a reasonably strong club scene.

No, he wants SOO gone altogether.

hadnt read that, thats lunacy.

the scheduling needs to be fixed up though.

i dont think brining back byes before the game is the solution either.

it should be stand alone. if they want it on wednesday night fine, have no nrl games played before it and maybe give the affected clubs a bye for the weekend after it

the ideal solution is no nrl on the weekend, and the game on a friday, sat, or sun.

if it were on friday night i have little doubt it would help crowds and get even better ratings by being in a recognized time slot

What's the difference between stand-alone weekend and taking a whole weekend off before it?

I think the comp should be 22 rounds and there should be split rounds during origin.

Players can play both games as they get a week off after 2 games in a few days Or they get a week off then back up after origin

nine are saying they want it on a wednesday.

if the nrl want to do that, then having no nrl on the week before would be some kind of half way gesture.

the ideal though is origin on a friday night

Friday night would be kick ar$e!! Last time they put it on a weekend it was a sunday night, which doesn't help us who like to indulge in a drink or two anymore then a wednesday night.
