These girls on the panel know more than "experts"

Except the Sarah Wilson chick. Deadset, is she Bec's sister or something? Kept going on about how the AFL does things better than League. O'Meley's missus was well-spoken and knew what she was on about, however.

The Star Chamber with the 4 chicks was iffy. I rolled my eyes when Mrs O'Meley starting complaining about the cost to go to the game. Her husband would be on $350,000 a season so complaining about tickets prices between $10-$20 and hot dogs is crazy. I assume she is talking about away games as the Roosters would surely offer free tickets to immediate family.

The lady from the Daily Telegraph did go on a bit about AFL but I guess she did have a point about women involved in the game as journo's, match officials and media roles. There are already women on the board of directors, Gerry Harveys wife on the NRL partnership board and Dawn Fraser is on the Tigers board I think.

Jennifer Hawkins would make a great touchie.:D

Yeah but this IS one of the biggest issues in RL at the moment.

I dont think she was specifically talking about just her family.

Families cant afford $100 -150 to go to the footy. Instead of a weekly event it has turned into a once in a blue moon thing to attend.

as if she was talking about her own family. and as if they would have to pay for tickets to begin with. i think it is a big issue, specially when families have to trek to ANZ.

im glad they are finally getting the message that women are hugely important to rugby league. and at least they had women on there that had merits of their own and not just OH HAY IM CRAIG GOWERS WIFE (how hateful was she...argh).

Well said Kiki.

The game (and it's semi-official arms like the Footy show) need to welcome and acknowledge more female involvement, imo.

Who knows, in time we may see less blokey anglo toilet humour on the footy show, and more chances to acknowledge how widely popular and diverse our game is (and talk about the footy istelf!)?

Are you serious, wat to miss the point! She was obviously talking about the average family not being able to afford to go to the footy every week anymore hence the low crowd averages. She even said something like when we ask our friends if we are going to the footy they say no we can't afford it.

I didn't enjoy the show really, they try way too hard with the comedy side (yet fail to deliver) and not enough of the actual rugby league side.

Well you'd be hateful if you were married to Craig Gower too:lol:

bahaha....yes hes rather loathsome. remember how they got married like a week after he groped wayne pearce's daughter. classsssy. imagine how uncomfortable that wedding woulda been.

bartman i dont mind the toilet humour on the footy show coz really, thats what they have always done. but yeh its high time they get women involved because if u look in the audience its always at least 50% women.

they can always ask sassy and i on..we are cheap :sarcasm:

the thing about the ladies panel was that - even though they all brought up some good points - I don't understand why it has to be so dry. I feel like it portrays women as really narky and killjoys and whingers, you know?

and it kind of implied that sexual attitudes and assault and bad behaviour are something that affects female league fans only when really it's a problem in rugby league as a whole.

why not just put a few girls on the show in an integrated way to talk about league instead? or doing something funny?

anything would be funnier than ash and luttsy last night. usually I love them, but boys you had a baaadddddd night.
