Weidler just wants to keep his good reputation with Sonny, Mundine, and any other league player for that matter. He wants to have that 'nice guy' image.

He's not going to badmouth Williams or anyone else because he wants them to trust him so he can get the next "scoop" or "gossip" item out of them all. That's the way he works.

But has he ever had a nice guy image? I must've missed that...

If he came sniffing around my door as a player, he's set off my weirdo/sycophant alarms for sure.

I'm not sure. But I get the impression he's got that 'nice guy' image with the players themselves. Simply because he doesn't act as hostile as other journalists and tries to be their friend.. as he has obviously done with Sonny and a couple of others over the yrs. He's a tosser, but it works for him. Sneaky bastard.

I turned it off while they had the guys from Canterbury on. That was a terrible segment. Maybe if they spent more time practicing their tackling rather than parading around in their underwear they wouldn't be the joke of the league.
