It's a good think Vaeliki isn't marking anyone remotely dangerous in attack.

Jesus the Sharks have an awful backline. You wouldn't describe anyone there above average.

Tighe gets a centre spot ahead of Jennings, knocking Gordon out of the side? Waterhouse at 11 to accomodate Nathan Smith, while Pritchard starts from the bench?

Elliott strikes again!
Gordon is injured. Jennings will odds on be back at centre when he is fit.

Waterhouse is at his best in the second row.
Pritchard is at his best off the bench. He is lazy afterall.

Smith shouldn't be in the team though. Nor should Brendan Worth.

I see 8 players making their debut during the opening round!

Nice to see and hope to see a few more make the step up. :)

Remind us how that went...

Just because you play for NZ doesn't mean you are above average. look at Steve Matai!

The Cov is also one of the few backs in the NRL who sloeaiki may have covered for pace. Not too say he isn't a reliable first grader, he most certainly is.

It's going to be a headache when Michael Gordon is fit. I'd say our backline will change to:
1. Wesser, 2. Gordon, 3. Jennings, 4. Tighe, 5. Rooney

Blair will either move to lock, the bench or Windsor Wolves.

i'd say Brett kearney is an above average player.
Are Matt Head and Luke Lewis injured?
Also i like the Titans backline... O'Dwyer and Delaney are solid and wont let as much points through as some of the other backlines announced.

Most of those backlines look very average. How the bookies and experts can single out canberra as being significantly worse doesn't make much sense.
