Just contacted South Sydney, they have informed me that the Charity Shield will not be on FOX or Nine, but on Fuel TV (Channel 516) as a result of big sports programming that evening (A-League final, RSA/AUS cricket, S14)

It should be on Main Event like usual. i dont get fuel in my package

It's the first one to feature any real NRL players as such I imagine, the Cronulla/Canberra clash consisted of U20's IIRC...

INU IN FOR GRIFFITH TRIAL
2pm, Thursday 5 February 2009

Kiwis Rugby League World Cup representative Krisnan Inu has been drafted into the Pirtek Parramatta Eels 24 man squad to play the Panthers in Griffith next Saturday, 14 February.
Initially left out of the squad, Inu has been rotated in place of 2008 rookie Taulima Tautai.
“Krisnan has had a disrupted pre-season and we see this as a way of kick starting things,” Eels head coach Daniel Anderson said.
“He had an extended break after the World Cup meaning he only returned to training at the start of January. Since then he’s also had a week off due to illness.
“We just felt there was a need to get Krisnan on to the field as soon as possible, which is why he got the call up.”
Tautai will feature the following week, when the Eels take on the Panthers at CUA Stadium.
The switch takes the number of internationals in the Eels travelling party to five, with Inu joining Nathan Cayless, Fuifui Moimoi, Joe Galuvao (all NZ) and Etu Uaisele (Tonga) in the squad.
The revised Eels squad to play the Panthers is as follows:

It would be so easy just to look back a few posts and see that there were in fact players with NRL experience in the Canberra/Cronulla trial... just not many of them. 8 or so. Honestly, how hard is it to go back 10 posts?

RTR Trial Result:

Wests Tigers 30 (Benji Marshall, Tim Moltzen, Beau Ryan, Shannon Gallant, Rhys Hanbury, Sean Meaney tries; Benji Marshall 2, Sean Meaney goals)
defeated
South Sydney Rabbitohs 26 (Dave Tyrrell, Chris McQueen, Jaiman Lowe, Shaune Corrigan, Daniel Sayegh tries; Adam Reynolds 2, Luke Capewell goals)

Source: http://www.rabbitohs.com.au/News/Club-News/Live-Scores-Return-to-Redfern-Match.html

Both teams can take a lot out of that.

Don't even know the Souths players and the one I do know if close to one of the worst forwards I've ever seen.

Good stuff the trials are here now, the Knights have one in 6 days i'll prob go to watch.

Im very happy with the result, souths lost in the last 5-6minutes, and tigers fielded a near full strength side first half. Well Done Boys

Storm squad to face NZ on Thursday.

The only real thing Id keep an eye on in this game as far as re-purcussions for the season proper is see how Maloney goes in the halves partnering Cronk and see if one of Brett Anderson, Tomane or Isa can make a statment of intent for a center postion if GI plays 5/8.

Brett Anderson
Dane Nielsen
Willie Isa
Joseph Tomane
Andre Itula
James Maloney
Cooper Cronk
Scott Anderson
Ryan Hinchcliffe
Louis Fanene
Sika Manu
Ryan Hoffman
Dallas Johnson
Hep Cahill
Sam Joe
Jade Williams
Wairangi Koopu
Kevin Proctor
Clifford Manua
Matt Cross
Zeb Tahwa
Dane Chisholm.
