I doubt it's the reason, they wore it against the Roosters last year.

Last year they wore the red and white horizontal stripes jersey, but not the 80s/early 90s jersey...

At least they wore the Henny Penny jersey against West Tigers last week.

Ah ok... Interesting... Perhaps they thought that the Roosters with the red v on the top half of the jersey would clash with the red on the top half of the henny penny jersey?

I dare say that would be the issue where both sides essentially have blue jerseys with red on the shoulders.

There's a reasonable difference between navy and royal blue..., and solid red bars vs a red and white double vee. Stupid decision which cheapened the concept IMO.

Your reference to the 1908 red-white stripe jersey - was worn in 2008's heritage round.

Women in League round is Round 16 this year - games in Christchurch (Roosters v NZ) and Perth (Souths v Storm) will feature.

Four teams already have their jerseys announced and these jerseys will be available for purchase mid-June according to my info.

Roosters of course will have Steggles on it.
Just for refresher :)

The Roosters pink one is in stores now - both Steggles and the OO.com.au logos are all pink.

Rabbitohs to Display OCRF ‘Silver Ribbon’ Logo on Home Jersey for Remainder of 2010

27 May 2010

2010Rd12OCRFAnnouncementDetail-dd873bbd-6f58-4636-9f18-88972d1bfe9d.jpg

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are partnering with major home corporate partner NAB to help raise awareness for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF), of which NAB is the founding partner.

The Rabbitohs will proudly display the ‘Silver Ribbon’ logo and the ‘1300 OVARIAN’ donation number on the front of their home jersey for the remaining seven home games this season, starting this Sunday against the Penrith Panthers at ANZ Stadium at 3pm. The Silver Ribbon will replace NAB on the front of South Sydney’s home jersey.

The Rabbitohs have displayed the silver ribbon on their jerseys twice prior to this weekend, during the 2010 Charity Shield match and 2009’s round 25 clash with the Dragons. Both the Rabbitohs and NAB are delighted to be able to help raise the profile of the OCRF for the rest of this season via one of the NRL’s most famous jerseys.

“It is a tribute to NAB that they have decided to replace their logo on our jersey with that of the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation,” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.

“We have been working closely with NAB and the OCRF on the best way to get their message out there, to Rabbitohs Members and Rugby League supporters as a whole.

“The Silver Ribbon campaign is the OCRF’s main fundraising vehicle and everyone can donate to this wonderful organisation by calling 1300 OVARIAN.

“Hopefully the OCRF can raise awareness of the excellent work they do and also attract funds to help them continue their fine research.”

Tim O’Leary, General Manager NAB Corporate Responsibility and Brand, said: “We really appreciate the Rabbitohs’ support for the OCRF. Having the Silver Ribbon on the jerseys provides an excellent platform to raise widespread awareness of this important cause.

“Ovarian cancer currently claims the life of one woman every ten hours largely because there is no early detection test. This is a terrific opportunity to raise awareness and call on the community to support the OCRF as they work to find the required markers to diagnose the cancer at an early stage.”

Donations can be made by calling 1300 OVARIAN (1300 682 742) or by clicking here. For more information on the OCRF, visit www.ocrf.com.au.

Organisation Information – Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation
The OCRF has developed to become one of Australia’s pre-eminent bodies supporting ovarian cancer research programs that occur nationally, and are focused upon the understanding of the causes of ovarian cancer, its early detection and improve patient survival.

Goals and Objectives:
 •
To develop and implement an early detection program;
To improve the mortality rate, management and long-term survival of women with ovarian cancer;
 • To gain fundamental understanding of the causes of ovarian cancer.
Although significant progress is being made into understanding the biological and overall management of ovarian cancer, this can only be continued with support from the community and the corporate world.
Ovarian Cancer:

Ovarian cancer is one of the most serious forms of cancers affecting women. Every year approximately 400 women in Victoria are diagnosed, most of them with an advanced stage of the disease. This means one in 90 women have a chance of developing ovarian cancer in their lifetime, equal to a lifetime risk of 1.1%. Nine out of ten cases occur in women over the age of 40.

Make a Donation:

You can make a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation by calling 1300 OVARIAN (1300 682 742) or online by clicking here. You can also purchase a Silver Ribbon pin at the Rabbitohs vs Panthers game this Sunday at 3pm at ANZ Stadium from one of the OCRF representatives.

Confirmed today Cronulla will be moving to xBlades as their jersey manufacturer. Members of the club can vote for one of three designs for their away strip:

I like the third one, inverse of their old home strip. Which they should never have changed IMO.
