The stadium is usually responsible for submitting the crowd to the club official who then must provide it to NRL Stats within 24 hours of fulltime (checking final ticket sales etc etc) - NRL stats has the final crowd posted at http://live.nrlstats.com/matches/nrl/match3127.html as 15,551

yeah I don't really know what is going on with it, this article on the cows page says 16551
http://www.cowboys.com.au/default.aspx?s=article-display&id=24140
Cowboys debutants Leeson Ah Mau and Will Tupou made solid contributions in front of their first home crowd of 16,551 fans.

anyways, whilst it wasn't a great crowd, considering it was threatening all day to really p!ss down and it was easter weekend and most people head away for the weekend, it was not too bad. I think that we have played like a$$ all year as well hasn't helped, I think if they perform like they did last night a bit more often you will see the 20k averages back again.

Yep.. and Saturday afternoon too.

it's funny how the mentality changes from era to era, in the early 2k's, fans didnt want saturday arvo games and the NRL obliged and got rid of them, now people are calling for them back.

So would I be correct in saying that the aggregate for this round is about 110k so far...

Would it be possible to get say 18k at Newc and 32k at ANZ, and break the magical 160k barrier, or 20k average...

Which off the top of my head might be the highest round attendance (not including round 1) ever...

Pretty sure there was some themed round last year that got over 20.

When was the last time a round without a Broncos home game got over 20 though?

Newcastle on Easter Monday... will be a good crowd, maybe 17k?

Dogs v Souths could be anywhere from 18 to 30k depending on weather.

Pretty damn good weekend crowd wise.

I dont know if Saturday Arvo is a great time slot week to week, but im sure a few games a year could capitalize on some crowds. Heap of people playing sport all day Saturday though.

Need a 3rd Sunday Afternoon game though.

The broadcast side stand at Toyota was completely full from the glimpses I saw and the new Southern stand is almost always full.

For those above with a bit of a question over the sharks crowd, i was there and im there everyweek, the place was 2/3 full and 13k was right on the money. Keep in mind lots of people moved to places under cover after 20 mins of first half (when the rain started) and most of those places can not be seen on tv and lots and lots of people left with exactly 20 to go as it pissed down from then onwards.

In summary there was 13K there, trust me. Other sharks fans who go weekly would agree.

I would argue that 'the people' don't want Saturday arvo footy back. It's just a vocal minority.

Much like the clowns who want contested scrums to come back, they have forgotten how bad it was and bang about as loudly as they can in an effort to see them return.

Neither have a place in our game anymore.

How is Saturday Arvo footy a bad thing?

As the crowds proved on countless occasions, people tend to do other things on Saturdays and as such crowds at games suffered dramatically.

Whether it be family commitments, work commitments or sporting commitments - they all added up and resulted in games on a Sat Arvo struggling a big way.

Yeah Saturday arvo people - particularly families - are otherwise occupied with things like kids sports and getting ready for whatever they're doing Saturday night, hell - it's essentially a sixth working day in many jobs now.

For people bagging Melbourne, this weekend could see a Melbourne home game with the biggest crowd.

There was a bay of them at the Lockett end and plenty scattered around the rest of the ground. For a team 1000km away it was a phenomenal showing.

Storm have only been around for just over ten years and are up against the AFL and get no support from the media. To get the biggest crowd in this round so far is fantastic. Two NRL teams from Sydney should pull more than 25K.The AFL does in Melbourne when two Victorian teams play against each other. so why don,t Sydney teams?

There are 10 other teams in another football code, and their season has commenced.

How many other teams are there in Canberra?

It's been a long time since they've topped the attendance figures.
