plus there would of been at least 5000 people on the m4 who couldnt make it. it was completely blocked, so once you were on, you were stuck for a couple of hours. i was stuck and half the people in cars around me had souths and penrith jerseys on.

Fair enough then. Maybe the crowd would've been around the 15k mark had it not been for the M4 dramas and the cyclone predictions.

i got on the m4 at 1:00pm because i wanted to watch some of the Toyota Cup and Family Day....I got off the homebush exit at 2:45pm....there were many people turning back (at the ON RAMP!!) and going home at the church street exit - along with weather warnings telling people to stay indoors i can see why there were only 11k there yesterday - they missed a great game though (if you are a rabbitoh fan that is) :D

I guess you didn't know about the massive storm that was forecast to hit Sydney this afternoon with forecast winds of 120 km/h.

It didn't get here yet, but it certainly has caused damage on the Far South Coast.

No chance I was going out on the road in that, but once we found out that it would not hit until tomorrow, we got out there.

As a Rooster fan, maybe you should worry about your own club.

Fair enough, i didn't know about the cyclone warnings nor the travel chaos.

Hard to judge at skilled park, looks like around 15K??

Sharks/Easts should get 11-12k IMO. Easts playing attacking footy, and with the spirit that Cronulla has they can get an upset.

In June issue of 'Rugby League Review' out today, has the following crowd stats (page 9) -

CROWDS
In Sydney: 689,404 (39 matches)
Average in Sydney: 17,677
Outside of Sydney: 743,658 (42 matches)
Average Outside of Sydney: 17,706
Overall crowds: 1,433,062
Average per game: 17,692

I am assuming that the Wollongong and Gosford games are counted as 'Outside of Sydney' (which they are) but I'm not 100% sure of that.

The above counts all games up to last weekend round 12 except for last night's Gold Coast vs Roosters game as I'm guessing it was too late to make it to print.

If the Gold Coast vs Roosters game is added it makes 'Outside of Sydney' and 'Overall crowds' stats as follows:

Outside of Sydney: 756,893 (43 matches)
Average Outside of Sydney: 17,602
Overall crowds: 1,446,297 (82 matches)
Average per game: 17,638

So much for the assertion that Sydney is bringing RL down...

Round 13

FRI- Bulldogs V Tigers 21000
FRI- Eels V Storm 13000
SAT- Panthers V Knights 13500
SAT- Roosters V Sharks 12000
SUN- Raiders V Titans 11000
SUN- Sea Eagles V Broncos 10000
SUN- Warriors V Dragons 15000
MON- Rabbitohs V Cowboys 10000

AV- 13188

Any word on what the weekends weather has in store for Sydney. If its good i would like to think penrith and manly could get quite good crowds given both sides form, otherwise i dont see a spectacular round crowd wise.

A crowd of 8,000 is pathetic. Those two teams should merge and let CC in. I doubt they will get 8k.
