That would be 3, possibly 4 clubs with memberships over the 10,000 barrier.
The Cowboys and Storm also got close last year so if they can make it again then we are looking at possibly 6 clubs with 10,000 ticketed members each.
For a two year drive that's a fantastic bloody effort.
To really foster this culture of memberships I'd like to see the commentators both on Fox and Channel 9 talking at length to the CEO's and players of clubs in interviews about the importance of becoming members.
We need to highlight the gambling money that is leaving the game and the long term dangers that not supporting the clubs could mean.
You dont need an Abramovic or an Arab Sheik to come along waving moolah to save clubs. The supporters can get together and secure the long term future of this game and being a member is about the best bloody way to do it.
The more of us there are, the stronger we are, the more money comes into the game not only from us but from sponsers and television rights and the better our future will look.
We need to force the message that ALL supporters of clubs should become members and if you're not a member you're not a supporter.
Even if you cant get to games there are non attendance packages. It's not hard and it secures our future and we need to get everyone in league who has a public profile banging this message long and hard.
