f**k now I realise why everyone hates you....

I said we will probably end up not playing our first 3 at home and because I don't have an NRL announcement or 4 peer reviewed journals proving my point, its not valid to be posted on a forum.

Do you get out much?

Great work from the mighty Raiders. We'll hit 11,000 next year no trouble, we've still got massive improvements left in our whole membership department

Also, seems like the Salary Cap sh*t really did hit Melbourne... I know they started late but didn't they also start late the year before?

Actually memberships were out about 5 weeks later this year and our no.s are well over 9000 PAID UP AND PURPLE and thats straight out of Storm HQ today.

PS. Unlike some other teams, all our members are paid up and havent been given freebies to make up their numbers ....so um next.

I have my assumptions also, but never seen any facts of it happening, excluding possibly Souths with Oprah etc.... but is she really a member for instance or was it creative reporting from the media and how do we know she didn't make a contribution and received a membership in return?

From my involvement and knowledge at St.George I haven't seen or heard of us giving away any freebies for membership of any level, and I would be interested to see if other clubs honestly have.

You can post it all you like, I'm just asking where you got the info from - sounds like complete rumour to me.

The St George Illawarra Dragons are now 19,000 Red V Members strong as the Club continues to surge towards its 2011 target of 20,000 members.

The fantastic milestone was achieved on Friday afternoon after Kire Dinov from Rockdale signed-up for his first Red V membership at the Dragons' Kogarah office.

The Dragons have already overcome last year’s Red V membership total of 15,711 and encourages all supporters to join and support the Red-and-White this season.

Pretty ordinary to publicise such a rumour on a public forum where it can gather momentum, then if not true can have people believing it...

Trying to keep people away from Dragons games or...?

Normal people read

If we have 3 games at SCG, I dunno about that. Maybe the third will be sh*t, but the dogs and eels games should get 40k.

Social geniuss read

DRAGONS ARE DEFINITELY NOT PLAYING AT KOGARAH, SO IF YOU ARE AN OPPOSITION SUPPORTER READ MY POST, DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THE FORUMS OR THE NRL SITE OR WATCH ANY FOOTY AND THEN JUST TURN UP AT THE SCG.

Good one f**king moron.

Most people living in the Penrith area don't have much disposable income to afford to pay for up front memberships and can only afford to rock up to games when they can. It's not the club's fault and it's not the fan's fault either.

I think the bigger problem is , most teams have great support from fans from their local area. Whereas in Penrith, the Panthers aren't the dominant team that fans support.

Surely the Panthers have a payment plan like every club should?

And the Eels and Bulldogs fanbases are hardly the "latte set" and they manage to get plenty of members...

The panthers also have it the other way round - Souths, Dragons, Bulldogs and even the likes of cronulla etc have large fan support outside their traditional bases. The panthers don't really fit into that category.

That said its not just the number of supporters but the passion of the supporter.

Roosters 9,603.

Hoping for 10K.
We'll get there mate.

Sold almost 400 in the last week. At that rate we'll be close to 10k this time next week.

Good to see we're still in 6th spot - further debunks the myth that we have no supporters or passion for the club.

I guess we're one of the so called "big 5" now....

Haha the 'big 5' Sydney teams that people have started going on about is the biggest crock of sh*t out. The only ones with consistently high crowds over the last decade are the Dogs and Tigers. Parra, Souffs, St George have all been around the same or worse than us in the same period.

The membership push happens to really kick off in the same year Hayne takes them to a GF and suddenly Parra are "big 5". Still the biggest bandwagoners in Sydney.

Easts have more members than the Tigpies and similar crowds to St George and Parra.

Isn't it just....

Let's not forget the Tigpies are 2 clubs, so I think our little old stand alone foundation club is doing just fine.

Hats off to the Dogs - "The big 1"...

Admittedly Souths and Saints have massively kicked on with members, and hats off to them. Hopefully it is reflected in their crowds. Lets see how ours look with a couple of successful seasons under our belts.

Yeah kudos where it's due.

They "got" the whole membership thing a long time before we did though.

More success (fingers crossed) and continued improvement in our membership packages and marketing should see our numbers continue to increase.

Rooster fans, whats the deal with the "traveling Rooster" membership. As far as I understand its a membership for away matches?

Which stadiums does this membership cover?
Is it priced accordingly?
Are there better ideas for away matches that could be thought of?

I personally think that it was just plain confusing and having the season ticket cover away matches at ANZ (like what Parra do for Souths and Dogs games) in the GA bays would be enough. Im sure the Roosters could work out a similar deal with the Dogs and Souths to have their STH's have free GA admission to the SFS and vice versa.
