Full season ticketed membership can be priced in whatever way or shape it likes, it's still full season membership. It's still being paid for.

What a ridiculously DUMB argument.

Hey Timmah, here it is explained so that you can understand:

Timmah walks into KFC to buy a bucket of drumsticks for his lunch.

When he gets there, he finds that the buckets are selling for 50% off, so he calls his 'mate' Shane to come down and buy a bucket because they are so cheap, and due to it now being in Shane's price range.

Shane calls a few mates down at the steamroom, and they decide to go and buy buckets too.

I hope this explains it for you.

Oh yeah, the conclusion to the story:

Shane turns up to buy the bucket, but Timmah is waiting outside, pops Shane with a Bulldogs special, and gets to eat a second KFC bucket.

11,900 ticketed members, that's plenty IMO. Souths only have about 12,200.

Seeing as you're content to play the man, not the ball, let me reiterate.

Pricing isn't the issue we're discussing. It's the distribution of memberships to charity and then claiming the membership numbers to boot.

If you want to discuss that, please do. You don't seem to want to concede it's a pretty dodgy way to advance the cause of "membership numbers".

If it were a pissing contest, as you seem to be keen on suggesting time and time again - you wouldn't care.

How the low price of our full season membership is relevant I have NFI.

Taking your numbers, and using the GA 12 game prices as a simple proxy:

Bulldogs: 11,900 * $95 = $1.13M

Souths 12,200 * $210 = $2.56M

DIFFERENCE = $1.43M

Keep digging Timmah.

so in short Souths are killing you on memberships considering their far higher price and lack of on field success

I doubt their charity memberships would be more than 1000

Last year it was 500 charity ones (all actually paid for).

Our memberships are more expensive than the average. Timmah this is relevant because the more expensive something is the less people are able to buy it. And that we can still get the number we can at our price is impressive.

And on top of all that we're 3 years without finals footy. I'd just like for the big mouth critics to wait to see how big we get after real success. If this year is as successful as it should be we will be miles ahead of 2nd place in 2012.

How long do we have to wait? Even the sharks are more successful than you recently.

You do realised those numbers are all ticketed memberships, not just the GA ones?

What a ridiculously DUMB argument.

DUMB is putting sh*t on a club that has thousands more members than yours, and not only do they have more members but they charge more than double in some cases.

The whole point is to bring in fans and $. they have done both better than the Bulldogs...despite the fact that some of them are to the dead pets of US celebrities :sarcasm:

You've changed your tone BM. What happened to "when we win the rest of our games this season and go on to premiership glory as we so rightfully deserve"

What part of 'simple proxy' do you not understand?

Lets go and get the breakdowns for the premium reserved seating:

Reserved Seating (12 Games):

Adult
Bulldogs Cat 1 $295 (2 middle bays), Cat 2 $195 (40m to try line)
Souths $310 (all tickets)

Concession
Bulldogs Cat 1 $185, Cat 2 $130
Souths $200

Child
Bulldogs Cat 1 $110, Cat 2 $65
Souths $170

Family
Bulldogs Cat 1 $700, Cat 2 $455
Souths $730

It is across every category, so what else have you got Timmah?

Should we exclude my kid because his old man paid for his ticket, rather than paying it out of his own pocket money?

I still think we'll be top 4. I still think we'll win the premiership. We have the talent to beat anyone else, it's just a matter of execution, I think we've finally figured that side out. Now for the wins to roll in.

*Souths football club sells the memberships.

*I can purchases one for $60 and souths football club recieves the money.(so its fair to say souths have sold another membership)

*The football club then gives a members pack to Souths cares (the charity organisation set up by the football club) they then hand out those memberships to kids who earn them through good work at school.

The memberships are only handed out through the souths cares program.
I would understand your point if the football club was giving them to souths cares without being payed for and then counting them towards our membership total.
But they are paid for in full, the club gets $60 and souths cares gets a members pack to give away.

But thanks all the same for being the authority on exactly who I can and can't bag for what reason. Good work, gold star.

Thank you Tim, it's fortunate for me someone as scouting as yourself has picked up on my good work and it's nice to know my efforts haven't gone unnoticed.

That's a sh*t load of money for a child.

You'd think a club with an aging supporter group would be doing everything to get youngsters to the game.

I've never heard of a fan bragging that his club is more expensive...

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...arpet-to-redfern/story-e6frexni-1225973014914

Figures from Souths show they have 5000 fully paid-up junior members under the age of 14.
Consider that Cronulla, Penrith and the Warriors couldn't put together that many total members in 2010.
This growth in the junior fan base has resulted in a significant shift in the average age of Rabbitohs members. When Richardson took over as chief executive in 2004 it was 38-39.
Now the median is 25-26, remarkable when most in that age bracket weren't even around to see Souths' last premiership win in 1971 - or old enough to remember the minor premiership in 1989.
I think we're doing alright amongst the kids thank you very much.

I rememeber when I was little and I was the only Souths fan and I was made fun of for being a fan of the "loser club". Suddenly it's the "cool" club and there's kids all over the place going to school with Rabbitohs backpacks.

I've never heard of a fan bragging that his club is more expensive...
We're not bragging. We're making a point. Our sponsors already pay a premium to be part of Souths, and we by far make the most membership revenue in the NRL.

It's a big reason we turn profits these days.
