I don't get the Raiders numbers. Their website clearly says they have over 6000.
Good to see that most clubs are well on their way to beating last years numbers though.

The website is showing what we got last year, they havent updated yet for this season.

Good positive numbers for most of the clubs. Great for the game. I'm sure in 5/10 years it will be standard....if you are a supporter, you will also be a member. And why not, it really is tremendous value.

no it will be great when we are like this:

Hawks president Jeff Kennett announced the club's profit for the year ending October 2010 stood at $2,326,545.
It is the fourth consecutive season that Hawthorn has announced a profit in excess of the $2 million mark and was boosted by an increase in membership to 54,473.

Whats the deal with penrith, those figures are terrible
One of the great mysteries of the NRL. Why a team out in the middle of western sydney rl heartland has terrible membership numbers and generally disappointing crowds. Are the Panthers crap at pushing memberships?

The Tigers also have less than I thought they would. Maybe it's true that a lot of people stopped supporting them after the merger.

Thing with Tigers is crowds are generally in the top Sydney teams so wonder why the memberships are not. Maybe to do with the three grounds thing?

Penrtih I can't figure, their crowds and memberships are low when in theory they have everything going for them and should be in the top 4.

Good to see GC starting to climb after the falls of the last couple of years.

Yeah good on the titans, even the afl admits it's a very well run organisation. I see them being amongst the leaders in memberships in the not too distant future.

As for Penrith and Sydney in general, it seems like the same pattern as always, the big 4 (Souths, Dragons, Eels, Bulldogs) who get great and growing numbers even when 3 of the 4 had bad seasons, and then the rest.

I'd say the big 4 are Parramatta, Bulldogs and Tigers (for sure), with Souths and the Dragons fighting for 4th spot, which is weird seeing as they have the most members (doesn't seem to translate into anything).

Eels were the most watched team in Sydney on FTA and PAY last year, with the Bulldogs second. The tigers both out drew the Dragons in crowds and PAY ratings. I'm not sure of Souths FTA or PAY numbers but they had higher crowds and higher members (like I said members at this point seemingly mean nothing). I might calculate Souths FTA and PAY ratings later to see who really is Sydney's top 4.

Tv ratings can be misleading, not every team has the same share of good timeslots, not every team plays the same teams twice etc etc. But memberships (that are brought in the off season with every team having an even playing field) tell you how many people are actually willing to put money into a team. Crowds are the same.

lol After calculating FTA crowds as a Souths fan you're wise to say that:

Dragons - 631,000

Bulldogs - 641,000

Parramatta - 655,000

Tigers - 619,000

Souths - 536,000

Also interesting is to look at Fox ratings for those clubs...

Dragons - 223,000 average

Bulldogs - 232,000 average

Parramatta - 285,000 average

Tigers - 245,000 average

Souths - 245,000 average

Since PAY is available nation wide I'd assume Eels have the most support nation wide, with the Dragons the least out of the 5 listed, coming last in Pay ratings and 3rd in FTA.

Well Souths has pretty good pay tv ratings but it doesn't change my mind on how effective tv ratings are to a teams popularity. Crowds and memberships are the most important IMO.

in most peoples opinion it would be great when you f**ked off to your west coast eagles forum.
Biggest troll on these forums. Your pic is troll, your sig is troll, your location is troll. And you have a go at people who make good points.

So what's your take on the top 4 considering Dogs averaged the most and St Merge averaged the least?

Memberships

1 Souths
2 St Merge
3 Bulldogs
4 Parramatta
5 Tigers

Crowds

1 Bulldogs
2 Tigers
3 Souths
4 Parramatta
5 Dragons

If we give 5 points for being 1st, 4 or being 2nd, etc for each category we can get an idea of who is the most supported based on members and crowds...

Combined

8 Bulldogs
8 Souths
5 Tigers
5 St Merge
4 Parramatta
