I'm just happy I've gotten to witness more than 1 premiership for my team in my life so far.

True, stay happy when you don't make the 8 next year.

By that logic, you should go for souths, they have won 20 after all.

How long has it been since Souths won one? Like I said, it's good to be able to cheer you team to a premiership more than once in the last 30 years.

One of the great mysteries of the NRL. Why a team out in the middle of western sydney rl heartland has terrible membership numbers and generally disappointing crowds. Are the Panthers crap at pushing memberships?

The Tigers also have less than I thought they would. Maybe it's true that a lot of people stopped supporting them after the merger.

Penrith do put alot of effort into their marketing. Iv been through this a few times and had some insight into how they work. They really are on the right track, its just taking some time for the Penrith people to embrace the Panthers as a brand.

I believe that the name Panthers here with the locals is associated with the club rather then the football team. Which could put families off. I hate the Panthers club. It attracts dickheads and I avoid it as much as possible. But the people behind their football club who take care of their image are doing a really good job.

There is hope, but I think the thing that they need to do better is engage the people there more. They present themselves well, but they dont really engage the community as well as they could, which is a shame because they IMO had one of the most talented teams on paper over the last few years.

Good point. So who cares if they lose every game next year, right?

On-field success... how do you figure Souths are ahead of Canterbury? :?

6 premierships in the last 40 years vs none... :?

Well it's actually 6 v's 2 if you want facts to get in the way.
I love how people pick the time periods that suit their own arguments. Games been going for a touch longer than 40 years so it's 20-8. Of course if we are talking recent success it's 0-0!

2? If you want to be picky and include 1971 it's 1... don't know where you pick up 2 from.

Recent successes 0-0? The Bulldogs won in 2004, is that not recent? :?

Use that method with pay and fta ratings...

FTA

1 Parramatta
2 Bulldogs
3 Dragons
4 Tigers
5 Souths

PAY

1 Parramatta
2 Tigers
2 Souths
3 Bulldogs
4 Dragons

Crowds

1 Bulldogs
2 Tigers
3 Souths
4 Parramatta
5 Dragons

Members

1 Souths
2 Dragons
3 Bulldogs
4 Parramatta
5 Tigers

TOTAL

14 Bulldogs
14 Parramatta
12 Souths
11 Tigers
9 Dragons

Seems about right to me.

You are pretty boring.
Saints played most of their games on Friday nights this year, how do you expect them to get big ratings on fox when it's being replayed at 11.30pm at night after already being aired on FTA?
Your theory has nothing to it.

And after all that success you still aren't a member of the so called club you follow. In reality you're a bandwagon supporter. You'll probably attend 1 or 2 games in a year when the Dogs are going well. Bet you didn't attend any this year after Round 6 and you probably stopped watching their games when they were out of finals reckoning.

Beg your pardon, you are right there.

I included 1970 and do realise that accounts to 41 premierships.

So in the tally of recent mistakes, I lead 2-1.
