2011 Memberships

Out of interest who is the demographic clubs target for memberships? 20 year old men, 40 year old men, families? or do they try to target all I wonder?

Football fans, I'd hazard to guess.

I think we target Females. Females play a large role in Rugby League and it is definitely a demographic that has been worked on with the Women in League round. I just feel the NRL can do more.

Seems AFL/Giants knows who its target market is (had to lol though as I wondered why they were targeting nuns when the first person walks down the tunnel! )

I'm a Souths fan.

I can appreciate what Russell Crowe has done for my club.

But I think you get my drift about using players in NRL campaigns. It is a risky affair after the Inglis and Stewart debacle.

So did you get a free set of dentures in your bag of goodies this year?

I don't see the need to target females - surely targetting people of both sexes who follow Rugby League would be the smart marketing plan.

As a female the only thing that turns me off is when they highlight the 'thuggery' which tends to be in SOO.

RL has a good female following - AFL just keep telling everyone they do.

Good promotion but a very bad promotion for their target audience. I wonder how much the actors were paid for that.

When you look at how much AFL clubs rake in through memberships it makes you realise why this has to be number one priority for NRL clubs.

Good promotion but a very bad promotion for their target audience. I wonder how much the actors were paid for that.

Talk to a few people about this GWS promotion, most people feel that it has come off as an 'arrogant' promotion of an 'lesser' sport.

I live out in Western Sydney, and I can honestly say I have not heard one person even mention the GWS in any conversation. Nobody cares about them.
