It goes without saying that the spine of that team is awesome, as are the starting props. I think NSW has a slight edge in the outside backs and the back row though. This may be a tighter series than most expect.

Running out of depth? Tends to happen when you loose players like Inglis, Hodges, Tate and not to mention Falou. Even Berrigan, a former Test centre, is a lame duck because of an arm injury. Ben Teo is out ... he would have come into strong contention.

There's a limit to depth, but I reckon Nielsen will surprise.

Lillyman has become a better player over the last 12 months. May surprise people I reckon. He's done some solid work at prop. More sends a message to Taylor to shape up because the loyalty policy does not extend to newbs.

Apart from Michael Crocker, can't say I can suggest another player other than Lillyman for the bench. Obviously taking Shillington's spot.

Regardless of who Queensland selectors put on the park, we can claim a few advantages of our NSW brothers ... lack of confusion being one.

I'd like to see the comparison between the teams in terms of Origin experience. The spine alone would probably double the experience of the entire NSW team.

I haven't seen enough of Nielsen but what I have seen (specifically against Manly and some charges from his red zone) leads me to believe he's an underated player.
