Timmah where did you get the Perth game on the 13th from? Everything I've seen says the 12th? Hope it is the 13th so it doesn't clash with the all stars game though we may not get to see some of the star players if they are in the allstars sides which will be a disappointment when we get so few opportunities.

It was Sunday last year wasn't it?

As I said not all games are confirmed, there's likely to be plenty of changes - especially now with rumours floating about the WCC will be @ SFS or ANZ.

100%, I spoke to the stadium today.

They are of the understanding they'll also have three games there during the season, one Souths, one Manly and not sure of the third.

Only saying what was reported in the Tele. They muffed up a few things like saying the Warriors played the Eels same day as Roosters on Feb 12 in NZ... so it may not be reliable. What is known that if it is to go ahead it more than likely can't be held at W'gong.

It should be held in the bush. As much as I would love to see a trial game in Canberra for a change, we really don't need it. Take it out to Young, Cootamundra, Wagga Wagga, anywhere but a large metropolitan centre that gets football all the time.

what are the chances some of the trials set down for the same night as the all stars game will be the night before not to have a clash

also even though itll never happen the penrith parramatta trial wouldnt be a good idea 1 year if they had it halfway at blacktown oval they can play it at night and fill the joint (im sure it only fills 10000)

Official release - Dragons 2011 pre-season fixtures

St George Illawarra today confirmed that the Club will play three pre-season matches in the lead-up to the 2011 season.

The Dragons will play the traditional Charity Shield against the South Sydney Rabbitohs on Sunday, February 13, the Bulldogs on Friday, February 18 and the World Club Challenge against the Wigan Warriors on Sunday, February 27.

“The 2010 Premiership success and the subsequent option to play in the World Club Challenge necessitated changes to our original plans for the 2011 pre-season,” said Dragons CEO Peter Doust. After lengthy discussions and negotiations, I am very pleased to be able to confirm our 2011 pre-season arrangements. “It has been important to take the necessary time to ensure that all arrangements with respect to the Charity Shield and the World Club Challenge were appropriate for our Club, in particular commitments with respect to travel, training and the commencement of the season proper,” added Doust.

“It was especially important given the 2011 Telstra Premiership scheduled away trips to the Gold Coast, New Zealand and Newcastle over the opening four rounds.

Dragons Coach Wayne Bennett was pleased to have the arrangements finalised and is looking forward to the 2011 season.

"It will be a challenging start to the year for us but I'm more than satisfied with the preparation we'll have leading into both the World Club Challenge and the opening round of the 2011 season proper,” Bennett said.

“With my commitment to the NRL All-Stars I won't be there for the lead-up to the Charity Shield but we will be going into that match with the best possible team available,” he added.

The team will depart for the United Kingdom on Saturday, February 19 and train in London and Manchester prior to the World Club Challenge.

Dragons pre-season matches:Sunday, February 13: Charity Shield v Rabbitohs; ANZ Stadium
Friday, February 18: Dragons v Bulldogs; venue tbc
Sunday, February 27: World Club Challenge v Wigan, DW Stadium, Wigan

Tickets for the Charity Shield will go on sale through Ticketek in early January. With today's confirmation of the World Club Challenge the Dragons are waiting to receive ticketing information from Super League Europe and will communicate these details with Red V Members, Partners and fans as soon as possible.

The Dragons will officially return to training on Monday, November 29 in Wollongong.

Cowboys-Titans trial moved to Cairns

MACKAY'S loss appears to be Cairns' gain, with the North Queensland Cowboys almost certain to move their NRL trial against the Gold Coast Titans to Barlow Park on February 26.

The game was to be played at Mackay’s new football stadium, but constant wet weather means the ground’s newly laid surface will not be ready in time.

Cowboys football general manager Peter Parr said a new venue had to be secured quickly and that Barlow Park was a strong favourite.

Barlow Park was to host a match between a Cowboys composite side and the Wests Tigers on February 12, but that game will likely be moved to another venue if the Titans trial goes ahead. Queensland Rugby League northern administrator Pat Bailey, who will meet Parr face-to-face later this week, said Cairns was ready to step up and fill the void.

Rabbitohs confirm pre-season trials

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have confirmed their 2011 pre-season match schedule today with the Rabbitohs set to have three back-to-back matches in preparation for round one against the Sydney Roosters.

The Rabbitohs’ first pre-season clash will be against the Newtown Jets in the annual Return to Redfern Members Only trial match on Saturday 5 February at 6pm at the Australian Technology Park Performance Centre at Redfern Oval. Rabbitohs prop Ben Ross is scheduled to make his long-awaited comeback in this match after a two-year hiatus from the game due to a serious neck injury suffered in 2009.

The annual Charity Shield feature pre-season clash against the reigning premiers, the St George Illawarra Dragons, will be played on Sunday 13 February at 6pm at ANZ Stadium, setting the scene for a massive weekend of Rugby League with the Indigenous All Stars vs NRL All Stars match taking place the night before on the Gold Coast.

South Sydney’s final pre-season hit out will be against the Gold Coast Titans at BCU International Stadium in Coffs Harbour on Saturday 19 February at 7pm. The Rabbitohs’ second training camp for the pre-season, held at Camp Rabbitoh at the Novotel Pacific Bay Resort in Coffs Harbour, will culminate in the pre-season match against one of the strongest Club’s in the NRL.

Ticketed Members of the Rabbitohs can purchase tickets for the Return to Redfern clash with the Jets now via the Rabbitohs website, www.rabbitohs.com.au.

Tickets for the Rabbitohs vs Titans match are available from Wednesday 1 December by visiting www.coffsharbour.nsw.gov.au/NRL2011.

Tickets for the Charity Shield between the Rabbitohs and the Dragons will go on sale in the new year.
