2012 Memberships

I would hope we are aiming for a min 10% increase each year. Attendances still outweigh ticketed memberships greatly so there are plenty of people who go to games but don't become members, we need to convert them by making it too good a deal to miss out on, or to make payments easier. In the UK they do staggered payment options so your not having to find a big chunk of money in one go.[/QUOTE]

Most clubs now offer such a thing Red.

so a bit of guessimating ...
( except where clubs have their tallies on their websites ) via posters putting in updates got from twitter etc
re where most clubs are now ... against where they were approx this time last year thanks to cleary's table above

20/1/11 10/1/12

Brisbane 11,669 13,000
Canberra 3,822 3,500
Canterbury 8,388 8,000
Sharks 2,767 3,000
Titans 5,919 3,500
Manly 4,730 6,000
Melb 6,000
Newc 5,592 13,000
Cowboys 6,422 8,000
Parra 8,616 8,000
Penrith 3,519 3,500
Souths 15,914 16,600
Dragons 13,311 13,000
Roosters 5,279 5,200
Warriors 4,490 6,500
Tigers 5,356 5,500

if I'm out ... by a fair way either up or down for any club.. feel free to correct this
& we'll start to get a picture of where we're at

Obviously the Knights have us ahead of where we were this time last year as a code
the Storm had no numbers til after Jan 20th in 2011 , so I'm not counting them in any increase
but our tally at Jan 20 last year was 105,794
without the Storm presently our approx tally is 107,750

I'd say thats a sluggish result
lets hope we get a wriggle on in the respective battles to take place in Feb.
No, Parra well above that number, last count a few weeks ago were up to 9 and half thousand give or take few hundred.

Great work by Sth's, for a team with little on field success they are certainly showing the other clubs the way in this area.

To have more members than the Dogs at this time of year considering how they ended up last season, that is a great effort by the Eels.

Fans have obviously responded to the fact that the results werent a complete indication of how the team was actually performing. Plus the fact they've recruited quite well.

Overall, the NRL is slightly ahead of last season and hopefully the battles with give the comp a bit of a bounce in the weeks ahead.

Agreed. With the right kind of marketing they'll average 20,000 before the decade's out.

Within 8 years teams should be aiming for:

Broncos - 35,000+
Canberra - 15,000+
Canterbury - 25,000 - 35,000
Cronulla - 15,000+
Titans - 20,000+
Manly - 15,000+
Melbourne - 20,000 - 25,000
Warriors - 20,000 - 25,000
Newcastle - 25,000+
North Qld - 20,000 - 25,000
Parramatta - 18,000+
Penrith - 15,000+
Souths - 25,000 - 35,000
St George - 25,000 - 30,000 (if they look at seat sharing allotments for particular games)
Roosters - 15,000 - 20,000
Tigers - 20,000 - 25,000 (again if they look at seat sharing allotments)

These teams are capable of achieving those numbers and if they did you might see a handful having season capacity attendances (Parramatta, Newcastle, Tigers, Dragons, Manly) and a few others coming close. That would see the overall crowd average somewhere around the 23,000 mark.

And that would make the whole experience of going to the game or watching it on TV that much better.

I reckon NQ's 6200 odd at the moment is probably actually higher, I reckon they migt be holding on to a few numbers privately in anticipation for a QLD derby race for members.............. i hope.

Melbourne - 24,000

North Qld - 25,000
Parramatta - 20,000 (2nd tier needed at atleast one end of the ground)
Penrith - 18,000
Souths - 25,000
