Exactly, you couldn't leave out any of the current back rowers. But maybe in 2-3 years time, most of them are getting on. The new gen of Williams, Fensom, Sims etc will come in

My team atm

1. Stewart
2. Uate
3. Lews
4. Hayne/Jennings
5. Gordon
6. Carney/Campese
7. Pearce
8. Gallen
9. Farah
10. Tolman
11. Scott
12. Bird
13. Fensom

14. TLL
15. Mannah/Douglas/Sims
16. Watmough
17. Gidley

Buderus could come into contention however I just can't see it happening. It would be awesome though.

We've tried to bore qld to death before, it doesn't work.

Early days, but I'm picking all these guys to have good seasons:

1. Josh Dugan
2. Michael Gordon
3. Michael Jennings
4. Chris Lawrence
5. Akuila Uate
6. Terry Campese
7. Todd Carney
8. Paul Gallen (c)
9. Danny Buderus (I have no doubt he'll be there. NSW hooker stocks are low)
10. Tom Learoyd-Lahrs
11. Luke Lewis
12. Glenn Stewart
13. Shaun Fensom

14. Ryan Hinchcliffe
15. Tony Williams
16. Keith Galloway
17. Anthony Watmough

18. Tariq Sims

^Maybe i'm a prop short on the bench, but Gallen will play big minutes and Williams is big enough to slot in there for a lil bit.

Let me try this again

1.Stewart (Big game experience, played in three grandfinals and played rep footy before. Josh Dugan is a good young kid but atm he is number 2)
2.Uate
3.Lawrence (Right side, best defender of the centres up for selection so i would give him the unenviable task of marking Inglis)
4.Jennings (Devastating attacker and can create for himself given space)
5.Hayne
6.Soward/Carney/Gidley/Maloney/Mullen/Campese
7.Pearce
8.Gallen
9.Farrah (best we have atm, Ennis has had his shot, only played four games and lost us two of them)
10.TLL (Has played well in the blue jersey before)
11.Bird (Left fringe)(He is like our GI, shit club player but turns up big time in SOO)
12.Scott (Right fringe)
13.Watmough (Tight)(needs to play 80, second best forward behind Gallen)

14.Gidley (if not 5/8)
15.Williams (Investment in the future)
16.Mannah (shown more at this level than most other props we have put in)
17.Lewis

Yeah Glenn was very hard to leave out but if any back rower was injured he would be the replacement. We really are lacking in the halves, lucky guys like Uate, Jennings and Hayne can create something from nothing.

Watmough is way too loose to be defending at lock for any length of time let alone the whole game. You're a prop short on the bench too.

Played the full 80 in the GF, guess he doesn't have to in origin due to having so many backrowers. I dont think we need any more than three props tbh.

He played in the second row in the grand final and made 32 tackles, 5 misssd. Not very impressive tbh.

Playing 4 props gives you far better balance than playing 5 backrowers imo, I get what you're saying with Gallen playing the 80 or close to you could get away with three props. It's why I think someone like Sims might be the perfect pick as he can play in the backrow and front row.

At about 85% efficiency rate.

If we're impressed by that it shows just how low our standards have become. That's accepting mediocrity at best.

He'd be in my team without a doubt but not defending centre field, not for long periods of time anyway.

Watmough's best game for NSW was at lock. Back in 09

His defence has never been an issue while he's wearing a Blues jumper. In fact, he could benefit at lock IMO. Gives him more freedom to roam the field and can fill in as though he's a 3rd prop. I remember he did exactly that in a game against QLD in 09 and he went kamikaze with his hit-ups. Probably the game of his career.

But yeah, he wouldn't last for 80 minutes. He would need to be rested

In a dead rubber...where he was allowed to get away with murder.

I've never seen a player be allowed to get up and walk literally 5 metres off the mark to play the ball...ever.

I think he's been a gun for NSW and have always been critical when he's been left out of the side but he's way too loose to be defending middle field. No doubt in the world he's great in attack but you just can't afford to be missing tackles in the middle of the field it's the most crucial position.

Here's just a few videos of why I hate him defending in the middle third;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzveckjYPsE&feature=related

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZX_ba5bmTs

The sad thing is some people will watch that second video and call it 'great pressure' but it's such a low percentage play. He falls off twice as many tackles and opens up twice as many holes in that second video than he does actually making a tackle or applying pressure.

I think his role is best coming off the bench and like you said just going kamikaze style, playing on the fringes and if the lock needed a rest then for a 10 minute period sure but no more. It's suicide to put someone like Watmough in the middle of the field up against Cameron Smtih. As much as it'll result in tries and linebreaks it's also just easy metres and puts us on the back foot.
