Pretty much everyone on here wants both stewarts, watmough and williams picked.

If Lyon was available he would be picked.

If balin, foran and dce could play for nsw they would All get picked.

Hell if matai was from nsw he'd go close too

However if Jamie buhrer gets picked it a joke.
Don't foget Donny Singe as a trainer...

He did it last year when Saints were Premiers...

Jason King had a legitimate claim to that spot in origin 1 based on his performances for Manly and the fact NSW had about 4 props injured and they had to look further down the list. If all front rowers were available he never would have come into consideration but that wasn't to be and he got picked. Funnily enough it wasn't his first origin but noone acknowledges his debut because his stats weren't anywhere near as bad (that said people are quick to overlook the stats of the other 3 props that night, none made more than about 40m but King made 29 tackles in 40 minutes showing how much defense was done while he was on the field).

Micahel Weyman and Dan Hunt both had bigger claims to the spot than King. Hunt in particular on form at the time. Yet weirdly the selectors went a token Manly player and the Dragons 3rd best prop.

Surely it's possible that Ricky had a bit to say about who was chosen? The fact is the coach generally gets the team he wants and if he wanted Weymen then Weyman would have been selected over King.

It's sounding like a lot of players will be picked from Manly. Brett Stewart, Glenn Stewart and Watmough are almost certainties, Tony Williams is likely, even Jamie Buhrer sounds like he's going to take Gidley's utility spot on the bench and David Williams is still being spoken about as a possible winger but I don't think that will eventuate.

who on earth has spoken about david williams as a possible winger :crazy:

You can have an opinion, but if you're going to post that Brett Stewart can't create anything himself and needs people to set up tries for him then I'm going to call you on how shithouse your opinion is.
Sorry that you think the truth is shithouse, I'll be sure to check with you in the future before posting anything remotely true.

It was mentioned on the Sunday Footy Show for starters.

I'm not suggesting for a moment he should be selected btw.

Only takes 3 decent games to get media talking you up...

I mean, the people talking up Wade Graham after 6 good games is a laugh. How about he does it for a whole season (at least).

As for Pearce, his last 3 have been v. good. But what about his previous 20???

one of the secrets to qld's continued dominance. even last series when we picked an untried rookie [in rep footy] in the centres he had a full season or twp of consistent solid defence in a top nrl side to put on his resume. and he did not let us down.

Your mileage may vary.
