74000 views.

But we dont care.

There's a handful of us who've probably contributed 60,000 of those views and 90% of the posts naming 250 different 17's. Gonna be one heck of a party in here if we finally win a series.

I'm getting a laugh off the DailyTelegraph website about Jennings. People are saying "He's not for Origin there's better centers". Who? Then they suggest Idris! Seriously? Why? "Because he contained Hodges". You'd think by now people would learn Idris is a fat-overpaid nuffy. Jennings is the best choice center we have. You'd also think that people would realize "Point is not to contain Hodges and Inglis and try play the defense game against QLD but pick players capable to scoring points.

Stuart to DT "That won't stop me picking him" (Regarding Jennings)

haha, all you have to do is watch last week to see ayshford dominate idris

TBH I thought Stewart was ordinary in Game 3. Clearly inferior to what Beau Scott offered.

He's never really impressed me beyond club footy.

Apart from the 40 tackles he made, which was second in the NSW behind Gallen and the 15 hit ups, again second only behind Gallen, he was f**king ordinary.

He can tackle all night and and his attacking nous is unbelievable, perfect for origin. It just depends on how Stuart wants him to play.

If we're picking a non-specialist right centre (i.e. Lawrence / Josh Morris), then for me Glenn Stewart is a must on that right edge. Last year all our attack cam down the left and Soward / Scott / Gasnier did next to nothing with the ball. Glenn Stewart asking questions, presumably with Carney on that side (as Pearce played left last year) with whoever plays centre and Aku Uate (who barely touched the ball in attack last series) looks far more imposing to me. And above all, balanced.

In terms of grunt work in the middle, Watmough, Gallen, Mannah and Tamou can provide that (and in a pinch so can Sims). Lewis & G Stewart provide ball-playing on the edges with some hard-running centres (I personally believe Lawrence would be a revelation outside Stewart - look at that try he scored in CvC by coming back on the angle). Then to mix it up, T Williams and Sims can come on and provide the angles on the edges from the back-row.

Farah out of dummy half with Watmough and Gallen running off him in the middle, not to mention B Stewart? On paper (and in my mind) that side has left & right balance plus some serious threat around the ruck.

The best part of this years series is that we don't "have" to find somewhere in the 17 for Gidley. Woohoo!

Stats. don't impress me.

I watched him & he wasn't a patch on what Scott offered that series.

I actually thought Stewart was one of our better players in GameIII last year. Will be interesting once the team is named. It has the potential to be a great Origin series and we can no doubt choose a unreal team full of talent to take the field for the 3 games.

A fit & fring Stewart brothers could be lethal for NSW, but I just haven't seen all that much from Glenn at this level (yet anyway). Hopefully he proves me wrong this series. His stats show he's got a good work-rate and he can look great in attack, but I'm yet to be convinced he can put in the real hard yards

According to you.

I thought he was pretty good in game 3, defensively anyway, i remember thinking during the game and saying to my dad the he had been hitting hard all night. IMO he is one of the best defensive backrowers going round and a very smart footballer

Gotta agree with all that, except maybe Watmough. I still think he does too many dumb things & is weak defensively for origin. Replace Watmough with Woods for the grunt work in the middle, and it still leaves Stewart, Lewis, Sims & Williams running on the edges. But still, as I said earlier I think the Blues side is starting to take shape, and, it is shaping as a relatively young side that can stay together for quite a few years.

Problem with G.Stewart is he needs to pair with Watmough well and get a Hooker/Half that will deliver him good service. Then he will shine. He's got footwork to hit the line, bend it then pass it off to his brother or any other person along the backline that will break the line.

We need to score points this is what Stewart can do. He HAS to be there. Given time he will shine and he has to play his natural game in the right position.

I agree with Big Pete. Glenn Stewart was definitley a downgrade on Beau Scott. His defence was nowhere near as good as what Beau Scott produced in Game 1 and 2.

I think Stewart combined with the running style of a Lawrence or J Morris would be great to watch for NSW. Especially considering the passing game Glenn has and Uate as a second runner option on the cut out or cut inside.

Lawrence and Morris actually provide difficult propositions to tackle even moreso than Jennings and require two defenders to bring them down alot of the time.

Stewart if allowed to play both sides also, in concert with his brother an effective detterent to the up and in hit we saw Boyd employ last year to such good effect
