I haven't watched Game 3 in awhile but I remember thinking NSW weren't really THAT bad.

By and large Queensland stepped their game up and NSW just couldn't match their near perfect Game 2 performance. Queensland got off to a flyer thanks to a couple of mistakes from Pearce and Minichiello and from there on it was always going to be tough. I also think Mannah & Ennis suffered injuries which really hurt later on. As much as people hate Ennis, I don't think Gids was ready to play as many minutes as he did at hooker and some of his options were just plain poor.

I also thought they really missed Scott. Stewart just wasn't as strong in that role.

Gidley butchered so many potential attacking raids with dud options

That is one of Gidley's weak points. When he occasionally puts in attacking plays he can be very good. However, when he is trying too hard and too often he can come up with some dud plays.

Lewis is a better player than all 3 of your backrowers. Yet you have him on the bench?

1. Dugan
The guy is a gun if in form. Need him here for now and for future building. Mini and our other FB options are not getting any younger. He can run the line and is a solid all round player.

2. Uate
Looked dangerous each time he had the ball last series. Is a strong runner and always manages to get a few meters each hit he takes. Should have scored a few more tries last series but he deserves his spot no questions asked.

3. Hayne
Played one of this best games in this position. Allows him to get involved in the game more. He is a great fullback but he gets to lazy and his talent goes to waste. From here he can build and get some attack going with the winger, he is fast and can also offer his kicking game to assist us and ease pressure on Pearce/Soward.

4. Jennings
Although he only played in GameI he was great all round looked sharp in attack and defense. He had a grim 2011 club wise but I think 2012 with a new coach backing him he will be a strong force Origin worthy.

5. Gordon
He's fast, He's quick he's just what he need. No more Morris he's a great club player but he's no Origin performer has proved on several occasions he is not up to the job.

6. Carney
Pending his form. If in form and playing a solid/stable game I would pen this guy's name in. He's one of the best 5/8's NSW have he's creative, fast and just a great all round player. Will gel well with Pearce and an inform Carney can loop rings around Soward. Only downfall is Soward has a better kicking game.

7. Pearce
Said this before. He's no X-Factor but he brings in a safe pair of hands, is not afraid to standd-up and take a hit-up or smash a tackle 1-1. He also offers a good kick with his cross field bombs and is probably the best option we got. Best we try keep some of our spine in-tact so we can develop and build. I think Pearce is one of them.

8. Gallen
No justification needed. Captain. This position. He will play exceptional either way. If he repeats his Game II performance it will be another stellar performance by him. If he lifts the squad lifts.

9. Farah
Don't know how many times I have to say it. This guy HAS to be here. His attacking game, his speed the way he interacts with other players and alas his temper. He has a bit of a hot-head but nothing like Ennis good to have some aggression in Origin so you don't get toweled across the field but Ennis is above and beyond.

10. Learoyd-Lahrs
If in form. He should be in no questions asked. He's a tough defender, he's an animal in attack and always stands up and just runs at the line like a bull running towards a red sheet.

11. Scott
Aggressive and strong defense. An absolute tackle machine and he's a top enforced.

12. Watmough
For a big boy he's very mobile. This is where we can get them the footing in the forwards. Be strong, be fast and tire them out. Similar to Game II. Play and build on Watmoughs play style and he will rack up meters.

13. G.Stewart
Best option we have for this positions. Has proved at club level he can be a machine from this position. He's quick, he's strong, and he's creative. He also offers a good kicking game which from this position is a massive bonus.

He is coming along nicely and expecting him to improve again this year.

Bird was our best forward apart from Gallen last year, has to be in the 13.

That's my only issue with Lewis.

He really hasn't been able to do anything of note in this arena.

It's why I'd have him behind Gallen & Thaiday.

But I certainly rate him at club level and love cheering him on in the Green and Gold.

It is a lot different for backrowers when their front row is Scott and Civ instead of King and Merrin.

I would have Lewis over Thaiday anyday. If Lewis was a QLDer he would be considered up there with the Slaters and Smiths. He is probably the most complete player in the game really.

Well thank god NSW have Gallen & Mannah...

I suppose Thaiday is struggling with Lillyman & Myles upfront.

The 'if such and such was a Qlder' argument doesn't wash with me either.
