The competition's been in its present format since 2003. The only other thing that's changed in the last decade is the qualifying spot distribution and spreading out the R16 over 6 weeks.

Well firstly, they were just the changes off the top of my head. Another change was to give automatic qualification to the winner.

The only way my claim can be incorrect is if zero changes have been made, which will fit the definition of the word constant. Obviously that isn't the case.
