Hala is a gentle giant . Is a big boy but off the field is a teddy bear . Has the size , but just doesn't have the mongrel or drive . In a way it's quite a shame given his stature . Playing with both hala and po. I rate po a better prospect. Half the size but has immense leg drive, killer shoulder (you feel it after doing opposed tackling bag sessions with him ) his only downfall is . His training . When he turns up he is a monster . But that's when he trains , it's not unusual for him to miss weeks of traning at a time . With no explanation . Is why he only saw limited games in BC last year .

Mounties have just posted that their Sydney Shield team will face Guildford in the pre season cup Final next Saturday at 1pm and that their Ron Massey have missed out by 1 bonus point, meaning Asquith will take on Auburn next Saturday I presume?

Fair enough. Anything can happen with the draw but only 2 teams won both games and Auburn beat both of the 2012 Bundy Cup grand finalists.

Asquith played a significant part of their game with 12 men after Mark Meredith was sent off.

Despite their losses in Oamps last week both Wests and Windsor have had 2 players promoted to NSW Cup this week. Seffa Silafau and Adrian Haangana haved moved from Wests Magpies to Wests Tigers and Kris Freeman and Alan Eisenhuth moved up for Windsor.

Shane Shackleton and Lancen Joudo have also been elevated for Mounties.

Damien Mostyn not playing for Auburn? must be injured, that leaves a big hole. Replacement Denzil King played in the St Johns Sydney Shield team last year.

There are a few Bulldogs castoffs in the Auburn side. Ah Sam and Ioapo played NYC last year. Ioapo is 129 kgs.

Asquith have a few boys from Norths - Josh Portlock and Joe Matapuku. Also, Steve Meredith, ex Easts, Newtown and Windsor is now playing with his brother Mark in the Asquith team.

Mark Meredith not playing, presume he was suspended for been sent off last weekend?
Joe Matapuku was named on Bears as well this week

Another trial on saturday will be Kingsgrove v Wests at Norford Park at 2pm.

Former Wenty half back, Luke Carr, who has acted as a runner for Alex Chan and Dave Nugent over the last few years, has come out of retirement to join Nathan Hindmarsh and Scott Geddes in the Moss Vale team in Group 6.

Auburn Warriors 46 (S Tovo 2, H Hunt 2, J Bowles, J Gerecs, H Nanai, F Fatai tries M Gibson 5, A Seini 2 goals) beat Asquith 26 (L Piper, S. Fakauto, B Horder, A Kalcina, Gouldie tries A Kalcina 3 goals.

Portlock, Matapuku and Steve Meredith did not play for Asquith. Both sides lost props in the first quarter. Auburn led 22-16 at half time but established a match winning lead of 40-16 early in the 4th quarter.

In the Sydney Shield game Mounties won 46-28. Guildford showed plenty of ticker to "win" the last 3 quarters after Mounties ran up a 30-0 lead at quarter time. Mounties have so many players that this side contained 3 players picked in the Bundaberg Cup rep team that beat Italy A last year.

The tryscorer for Burwood last week was S Huihahau. Is that the guy who played for Souths and Wests Tigers?

Nah it wasnt. The try scorer was Siupeli huihahau. I think your reffering to Sam Huihahau. He goes by the name Sam Latu now. PLayed for the newtown jets last year. Last I heard he was rugby union for Randwick this year. Cant wait for round 1. Especially the team list they put out for mounties RMC.

Two things change once the main competitions start - only 17 players with 10 interchanges and the teams must be no more than 100 points on the player index. Shane Shackleton played NSW Cup for Mounties on the weekend. If he stays there it takes a lot of pressure off the points situation, but Michael Bani is also not playing NSW Cup and he would chew up a lot of points for a winger.

Cabra's connection with Newtown means they did not have to replace all the players that left. They should be able to fit in 5-6 Jets each week and should sit in the top 4 as usual.

Entrance lost all 3 trials and may be under a bit of pressure.

I see this being a real problem for Mounties this year.
The amount of guys they have recruited to their club is going to pose issues when it comes to player points. I also heard from one of the Sydney Shield players that they only get paid if they play RM Cup or NSW Cup, so anyone who came over hoping to play RM Cup and gets stuck in SS for the year wont end up with a dime!
Considering the amount of coin a lot of these players could get at other clubs, it makes me wonder if they will stick around for the year......

That being said, Mounties also have a direct link to an NRL side in the Raiders and seem to be a very well run club and the players seem to be well looked after from what I could see.
