Cabra have 10 Jets listed this week, with 6 in the RMC vs Windsor and 4 in the SS vs Hills. The 10 does not include Ryan Verlinden (sent off vs Guildford in Round 1) or Matt Mundine (injured while playing for Newtown last week).

The best game could be Mounties vs Auburn.

In late March, the North West Wolves, a club from Melbourne, travelled to Cabra to play their Sydney Shield side in a cross border trial. They were competitive in the first half but Cabra ran away with it in the second session.

The club was formed in 2011 and travelled to Tasmania to beat the State team in its first game. Their website indicates that Mounties winger Eddie ElZebediah was a member of that initial Wolves squad.

A Wolves official attended the 2012 Bundy Cup GF as a guest of the NSWRL as they had plans to enter the comp. They are not up to the standard at this point but they are an ambitious club.

Sydney Shield, Wenty 98 Blacktown 12. WOW

RMC - Wenty 36 Blacktown 26

Last year Wenty scored 160 points against Blacktown in the 2 games in Bundy but Wenty are playing below par this year and Blacktown have 3 or 4 quality players this year.

Mounties 24 defeated Auburn 16 after leading 12-10 at half time

Auburn had their chances but a couple of blunders in a few minutes in the second half cost - Mitchell dropped the ball after crossing the tryline unchallenged and then an absurd forward pass at the other end turned over possession and gifted 6 points to Mounties.

But Mounties and Entrance are looking clear of the pack at the moment although the Tigers have had a much easier draw so far.

In Sydney Shield Mounties won 64-18.

Cabra beat Windsor 32-24. They appeared in complete command at 26-4 after 55 minutes but Windsor closed the gap.

Windsor's entire squad was worth 52 player points whereas the 6 Newtown players in the Cabra team were worth 58.

typo amended.

Tim Winitana played for BNRU as well as Lijic Radan, who is the second Serbian international along with Adam Nedic to play with BNRU this season. Nedic's consistent goal kicking was absent as 4 kickers were tried before a goal was landed.

Just some info for the Kingsgrove Colts RMC team. It now looks like they may have 2 semi-home-grounds this year. This is just going off the nswrl and the Colts websites. They will play 5 games at Kogarah Oval (already played 1 game there), and 2 games at Hurstville Oval, while 4 games have been undecided at this stage. It may look like Beverly Hills Park is out of action this year?

The last game, and the upcoming game, at Kogarah Oval has been double headers, with the Sydney Shute game being the first game, with RMC being the second. Not sure if it will continue like that or not.

More likely Beverley Hills ruled out as substandard.

RMC and SS are played together unless it is a home game for Windsor, Entrance or Wests. Those games are matched by SS home games for Belrose, Hills and a bye.

Round 6

Mounties have displayed their depth by replacing backs Wayne Dargan (to NSW Cup) and Eddie ElZbediah (broken leg) by promoting from their Sydney Shield team the 2 top try scorers in the Bundy Cup in 2012 – Billy King and Matt Winchester. King has 68 points in 5 SS games this year. It is likely that Kingsgrove will continue the stats to date - conceding 57 points per game.

Auburn has been boosted for their clash with Windsor by the return of Hala Akaoula (injured in the preseason final), Chris Salem and Doug Hewitt. Windsor will also benefit from the return of Hutch Maiava from suspension and may target Hewitt, who played pivot for Windsor last season.

Cabra has Ryan Verlinden on the bench this week – his first game since a send off in round 1. Pierce Sapsford scored 4 tries in SS last week and the Jet may have been rewarded with a promotion to RMC but it is uncertain as he is listed in both teams. Blacktown Workers have lost Mosese Pangai to State Cup but receive Vaipuna Tia Kilifi in return. Including Jake Shearer, that is 3 players that have played for Windsor in State Cup this year but drop back to Blacktown in RMC not Windsor.

BNRU with Daniel Fepulai and Tim Winitana in their squad should produce their 4th win on the trot when they meet Guildford. Asquith, led by their 3 North Sydney players, should be too strong for Wests. Wenty has its most crucial game to date when they meet the undefeated Entrance side on the central coast.

In game of the week in the Sydney Shield, the competition leaders, Belrose, go into the big clash with Wenty without regulars James Mortimer (thigh injury) and Lee Cameron. In addition benchman Joe Napolitano has returned to the Manly State Cup side. Wenty will be banking on the attacking thrust of Henry Raiwalui and Junior Rika in the midfield and the strength of the bench demonstrated by the presence of Pat Mataele and Isaac Malliota.

Cabra SS is also starting to build up. They have the experienced pair of Tuki Jackson and Nick Eshman in the second row and for good measure ex Easts, Balmain, Windsor and Newtown Backrower/centre Matt Hall makes his first appearance in 2013.

Entrance v Wenty tomorrow.

Wests have started strongly in a number of games but cant seem to finish them. They led 20-6 at one stage today. Eddie Paea played for Wests today. Guildford were in front of BNRU at half time.

I believe Wests had 6 NSW Cup players as well. They were dreadful in their own 20 in both attack/defence in the 2nd half. Too many errors with the ball. Eddie Paea looked injured just before halfime and didn't last long into the 2nd half. They were rudderless post his replacement..

Yeah plenty of State Cup experience in both sides as Asquith had 4 from current North Sydney squad plus Jack Hawkins from North's 2012 team.

Wests lack experience in their regular squad. Most of them have never played at this level before. Just lack the resilience to last 80mins.

Good to see BNRU continue to grow. They worked hard in their 1st year, and would have done better last year if WT had shown them more respect. They've found the right mix with Norths...

With the uncertainty surrounding their future they were very late in trying to recruit a squad and that shows in the general strength of the side. But if they received a reasonable amount of funding from wests Ashfield they should still be chasing additional players of appropriate calibre.
