Yep if you look closely you can see the stitching goes all the way up. Wear and tear on a jersey that is 83 years old I'd say

Absolutely, but to the casual viewer it may look like that the vee was a cut-off.

It's a fantastic jersey that one. Love the size and the detail of the original badge.

No problem guys, glad I could help.

It's a great jersey, I'll be buying it immediately, no waiting for sales, etc.

If Momentum is going to be our sleeve sponsor, these jerseys could well be true. So I feel bad as I have some bad news to break too. Unfortunately we are departing from the Illawarra jersey for our "Away Strip" and using the "blood and bandages jersey".

This is very selfish of the St. George in my opinion (I'm originally a Saints fan too). We finally nailed a good Illawarra jersey over the past two years, and then they dump it.

If we're going to do the original Red V jersey, surely the blood and bandages could have a few years off and we keep the Illawarra strip.

p.s. My mate also told me

1. Home jersey the same (same collar and everything.
2. ANZAC jersey, the same as 2012, no silly gimmicks, just the ANZAC badge.
3. Women in League the same (pink V and collar), but also a pink loop on the bottom of the sleeve (as opposed to just white like the Home Jersey)

and that's it, six jerseys for 2013; Home, Away, Heritage, ANZAC, Women in League, and Charity Shield.

Wow! I agree with should have kept the Steelers style jersey, but man I love that blood and bandages design.

Hopefully its a supply and demand thing, perhaps sales of the away shirt were way down last year, so take it away for a few years and then re-introduce to see another spike in sales?

Kudos to our club though, what a great set of jerseys for 2013!

Don't mind the away jersey but hate the red side panels.

Is the Charity Shield jersey black??

Only six jerseys for the saints this year....? Just need a movie jersey now...

The full release of the Pirates jersey for next year

If this is an indication of what the team might wear if its admitted to the NRL, I'm a big fan

Thats a bit harsh

Every club has 4 jerseys
1.Home
2. Away
3. Heritage
4. Special (in our case, pink V)

The ANZAC jersey its just the red V with the RSL logo on it, its not a different jersey

Considering we stick to the same home jersey every year, I think its fair enough that the club produces a Charity Shield jersey every 2nd year for a boost in sales and to try random designs (like black with a red V in this case)

Sorry if that sounded a bit harsh. Guess this just goes back to the point where I believe there are too many jerseys for each club. Personally, I think there should only be three jerseys.

Home
Away
Special (Charity/Heritage or something similar)

However, understand that clubs want to maximise income from jerseys and by producing various jerseys that's one way to do it.

Yeah I agree. I think 4 jerseys is a fair compromise. Home/Away/Heritage/Special

This is very selfish of the St. George in my opinion (I'm originally a Saints fan too). We finally nailed a good Illawarra jersey over the past two years, and then they dump it.

Interestingly, someone on the Jubilee Ave had already seen these pictures and asked the club who confirmed the Illawarra jersey WILL remain as the alternate for 2013.

So perhaps these diagrams were concepts that were yet to be ratified by the club?

I'm quite confident the CS jersey is correct (the club said we were having a new design in 2013, and Reebok have had a fascination with making our merch black - see 2009 charity shield jersey for comparison below) and I think if Reebok designed that heritage it was at the request of the club, so it makes sense.

Perhaps the blood and bandages is for ANZAC, perhaps it was Reebok's away jersey suggestion that got knocked back?

I'm in the midst of making a Roosters jersey - another arguable one, and was wandering what are everyone's thoughts on it without the histroic V, I know it's a bit risky but I just wanna make sure everyone won't blow up at me.

Thanks

Well they've only had the vee since the 50's so it's not a massive shock. However, it's a classic design that shouldn't be messed around with too much :p

A mate emailed me this. Sorry about the bad quality folks.

Dragons might be getting a new "heritage" jersey this year (similar to our first Red V jersey).

There is nothing official on the Dragons website, and it only has Momentum as the bottom back sponsor (we got Always on-board mid way through this season) so it don't know if it's real. It does look like it says Reebok on the front though.

Anyways, here it is.

The logo's on that jersey are very high up.

They're concepts, not real.

That's a relief.

If Momentum is going to be our sleeve sponsor, these jerseys could well be true. So I feel bad as I have some bad news to break too. Unfortunately we are departing from the Illawarra jersey for our "Away Strip" and using the "blood and bandages jersey".

Pathetic. That's a real piss off. (if true of course)

Cheers for that mate. Yeah I agree, the Illawarra jersey will most definitely come back, no doubt.

In my opinion it's just a bit selfish of the St. George side to have the B&B, original Red V, and Red V jersey all in the same season. They should try to make sure there is at least one Illawarra jersey in there every season if you know what I mean.

Anyways, really looking forward to when the original Red V jersey gets pulled out next year, it's gonna look great in the flesh.

I am extremely disappointed that we are getting rid of the "Illawarra" jersey. I do also love the thin red V jersey. I'll be getting one as soon as they are available.

That thin Red V is only 95% awesome. it does not have the original badge on it though, it is the current one. I will still get one though
