Having seen the Bulldogs jersey up close now... absolutely love it. CCC have done an incredible job IMO... can't wait to purchase one (or all four varieties).

Oh, as for Cronulla, sponsors not yet confirmed but I believe their main jersey will be what their heritage was last year (classic hoops design, used from 2006-08 from memory). Away won't change (black with white & sky blue hoops), heritage not sure, members strip will be the Vee heritage jersey.

That's what I've heard anyway

That is the jersey that the Sharks should always play in, like the Dragons and Souths always have the iconic (near untouched) design. Everyone knows the Sharks in this jersey, why bother with other crap designs?

because you cant sell new jerseys to the diehards every year if it remains the same. I know people will argue that souffs and dragons jerseys probably still sell but i'd be interested how well jersey sales alone go for clubs who don't update their jersey versus those that do (gazf?)

i'm one of the few that like the broncos 25 year logo and will probably get all 3 (4?) jersey's because of this (even the dreaded home one). had they kept the jersey's all the same design as last year and didnt have a diff logo i wouldnt have bothered. Timmah said above he'll look at all 4 new dogs designs - if they were the same as last year he probably wouldnt bother

Whilst i'd prefer better designs if they're going to change, the reality is that merchandising is a cash cow for the clubs and i really think for a lot of clubs if they didnt change jersey's regularly they'd be missing out on some decent $$. although by this logic the tigers should have billions in the bank...

Updated jerseys would sell more. What this is worth to a club would vary depending on your opinion.

Is it just me or has Brisbane got their sums wrong? 2013 will be the 26th year of the Broncos. They joined in 88, 13 will be 26th season? Or are they just not counting their first season? They should have had their 25th badge last year! Newcastle did that for 2012 didn't they?

it's a 25th anniversary year... when you get married you don't celebrate your 2nd anniversary 12 months after the wedding day...

newcastle celebrated 25 season, brisbane the 25th anniversary...

surely it isn't that hard a concept to grasp... neither was wrong... it was all just when and what they chose to celebrate...

Ahh - but clubs can keep the same basic "classic" design for the home/primary jersey, yet making a subtle change to keep diehard fans buying the new season jersey.

Changing the collar, trim, or sponsors can be done without radically moving away from a club's traditional jersey.. preserving the identity of the club. Football clubs in the England have done it for a long time.

In my opinion the NRL Commission should require clubs to decide ONCE AND FOR ALL their colours (eg Penrith & Warriors) and only allow experimentation with designs on AWAY/secondary jerseys.

We really need strong leadership on this from the NRL Commission.

Dragons jerseys haven't changed design forever and a day, and are always among top sellers. The notion that new jersey designs are the only reason people buy year-on-year is a furphy.

I seem the terminator jersey yesterday. Pretty funny. But what's with the 20s logo now?
"U20s CUP", sounds pretty dodgy...

I think you'll find it'll end up being called the Holden Cup or something to reflect their sponsorship of the NYC.

Well, the home Dragons jerseys have changed - but only marginally over the years.

The collar might change one year, the steepness of the V the next, and not forgetting the red trim on the shorts.

But the point is that the main aspect of the design is constant.

If you had a time machine, brought forward a fan from 1973, and showed them a modern St George Illawarra home jersey (with the badge covered), they'd know what team it represents - joint venture notwithstanding.

You can't say that about some other teams that have been around for at least 40 years.

On team colours - It bugs the hell out of me that my team (the Warriors) have chopped & changed their colours & design so much that any home game has a crowd that's a muddled wash of every colour imaginable.

Sticking to a set of colours just ramps up the home ground factor - especially if a lot of the crowd is decked out in team colours.

On an unrelated note...
I'm indifferent on the new design for Australia, but what I want to know is if it's official or not. The only place that claims to be selling the 2013 Kangaroos is rugbyleagueshop.co.nz.
Classic Sportswear still claim to be the official supplier of the Kangaroos. Surely there would be a big announcement if Australia changed its apparel supplier. Besides, it seems a little suspicious if the only people selling the new Australian jersey are Kiwis.
