Certain people will walk around in basketball singlets, flat brim caps and gridiron jerseys regardless. The NRL may as well make money off of them.

www.goodscore.com is the store that does these $500 jackets. they call them ultimate fan jackets or something. i imagine that they're a special order cos they wont stock that many or sell many @ $500

in terms of flat brimmed hats, the new era NRL hats are awesome. f**k the flat brims though - i bend mine

Speaking of flat brimmed hats, why do they leave the stickers on the front? I know I'm an old bugger and don't get these "hip" kids but f*ck me it just looks stupid.

The stickers are left on for the reason (and this is the actual reason, no matter how stupid it sounds) that it proves that they are wearing real New Era caps.

Just watching tonight's Crusaders v Blues Super rugby game.. and the Blues are wearing a harlequins-style quartered jersey!

The colours on the jersey representing the unions in the Blues - Northland's cambridge blue, Auckland's dark blue & North Harbour's dark crimson.

Sure Adidas have made a bit of a hash of it by adding stripes, little side panels & a silly crimson bit on the back.. but it's quite unique.

What does everyone else here think of quartered jerseys?

Would you like to see an NRL club use a quartered jersey as an away or alternate strip?

What club colours do you think would look good in that sort of design?

I remember drawing Balmain jerseys with quarters as a kid. I don't think its a style suited to league though.

I recall that Norths had a quartered jersey for the Sevens one year - can't find a photo of it but I think the quarters were slanted, giving it a asymmetrical look.

That wasn't too bad.

so by that rationale these "hip kids" believe that New Era caps can be counterfeited but a simple foil sticker cannot?

ok then.

I was under the impression that the stickers were left on originally to show that they're wearing something brand new (which morphed into what Craegus is talking about). Fits hand-in-hand with only wearing sneakers once.

Man, im drunk as f**k in Vegas ATM but gaz and crag are both right, they leave the sticker on both to prove that a- the hat is new and b- the hat is genuine. But! That is a about ten years old now, these days it's only cos a- your a genuine f wit wannabe yank, b - you think it's cool to be a genuine wannabe yank...

years ago you could buy supporters jersey for each team in the 1/4 style with the clubs logo massivley oversized in the top left 1/4
maybe mid 1990s.....

Absolutely not, that's a Ruggers pattern. Just plain wrong to even suggest it!

Halves and quarters are not a Rugby design, they are a late nineteenth century design

www.historicalkits.co.uk

Look at Derby, Coventry, Blackburn, Luton, Everton, Bristol Rovers, Cardiff City and pretty much any other club you can click on

They all had half and quarter kits in the late 1800's

By the time Rugby League got to Australia the fad had died away.
