The on field markings being digital happens every game now. Only the Telstra Premiership logo is painted on the field. It was painfully obvious in Gosford today when watching the replay - the NRL logo is faded and the rest are full colour.

I think they now also put Holden Cup and Holden logos in for the NYC telecasts too.

I thought the pitch sponsors had suddenly got very bright and clear! Been asking for years why the NRL doesn't do it after the NFL first brought it in to show the first down line.

Yeah that's all good but what about in 3 years when they change it again...(remember titans...)
They wanna create an Identity they'll need to keep a similar design for 5-10 years..

Anything predominantly black will be too wests, and too orange will be tigers.
Personally I think it needs to be stripes. Both teams have used stripes before.

I think there first jerseys were great but then the abortions started.
Get stripes, similar maybe to roosters stripy's, and keep them.

Yep, the best thing they could do is establish a base look that they can make minor modifications on. This is the model that popular EPL teams use, changing the design a bit every year, and fans still shell out the cash. Should be a V or hoops because of history (and their potential longevity) but there are also some interesting variations in that tweet that I wouldn't mind seeing either. Black is probably the most ideal colour given that its common between both sides of the merger. The Tigers brand dominates WT so a Wests dominant palette is only fair.

Predominantly black jerseys just don't look very tiger-ish to me. Tigers are mostly orange.

Not many teams have colours that are actually linked to their mascot animal. Seems a shame to waste that.

What about Siberian Tigers?
Anyway Tigers are largely extinct.... which explains a lot

Theres plenty of white in all Tigers so at least the colour combination works.

I don't think retaining mascot colours (which it still does) should be the highest priority in a merger design.
