Unfortunately I think we've passed the point of no return for the number of sponsors. Our best hope is that there are stricter criteria for the display of sponsors so that it has a minimal impact on the overall design.

Agreed. Will only get worse, see French Rugby jerseys for how bad its going to get.

NSW fans..get ready for some "Aqua Marine" training gear in the same way the fluro green was used in the aussie cricket and league training kits. Took this photo at Rebel today.

I was in Sydney a few weeks ago and saw some of the NSW supporter gear in that teal colour. I was very disappointed, as I was hoping to pick up some NSW gear while over there (there's not much in Perth!!!). I left empty-handed as far as NSW goes. The colour is uneccessary and just looks yuck in my eyes.

The snakes on those bracelets have nothing to do with diabetes. They are a depiction of the Staff of Asclepius, an Ancient Greek symbol of medecine.

So what's everyone's thoughts on the electronic ground signage used on Friday night

If your thinking to yourself ... Wtf you idiot

Watch a replay. Notice every other camera angle other than the 50m line west camera, shows almost no field markings.

Can anyone who actually went to the game

Confirm what was actually painted on ground, and which were fakes ?

I haven't noticed that for Friday night footy games, but I did see it for the Tonga-Samoa game last weekend. What gave it away for me was that the countries' logos changed sides for the 2nd half. After that, everytime a player was tackled on the logos (according to the 'main' camera angle) and they used a close-up camera as they played the ball ... all of a sudden the logo they were standing on disappeared until the wide shot was used again. I don't mind it so much so long as they don't do what the ESL do and animate the logos at the start of the halves.

noticed it at the broncos cowboys game a few weeks back. can confirm the only logo painted into the ground is the large Telstra Premiership one on the 50m line. the Holden, Telstra and VB logos were all keyed in by 9.

9 and fox have both started doing it. I think it's great.

Takes a bit to get used to though.

Although I'm pretty sure that the ads were actually painted on the field for the dragons v roosters game on ANZAC day though.

Basically we are 10+ years behind ESL and cricket. And 15 years behind NFL. even the swimmings had the white line forever.
Still don't even have 1000fps in the in goal ffs..
Anyone know why? Channel 9? NRL?

(Shouldn't be in this thread, but whilst we're on the subject..)

I'm fairly sure they were digital - it seems that any logo that has a line through it is one that is digitally inserted - really noticeable when you can see the 50 written over the top of the FNF (or whatever day logo it is) at the top of the 50m. sometimes it's really obvious and sometimes its not.. I'm a fan of doing it. It's hard to notice if you're not looking for it (I find) and it means the field should always look good even if its been bad weather and the logos would normally be washing away

The ANZAC logo at the Storm have was digital as I could see the FOX feed from where I was sitting.

Cumberland your not mental this was raised by another poster about 3 weeks ago, but now that there a seperate media section they get moved there and die.

It's like the LU moderaters are deliberately reducing there views and posts
