Yeah 2-3 weeks before season start we were gettin 100 or so new members a day. Definitly slowed but hopefully on field performances will improve and help us bring in more new members.

Thought we would've cracked 12k by now with the way we were going.

Just going on what's on the website. Apart from a quote from you I can't see that figure mentioned elsewhere? Was it in a member email?

Assuming it's cracked the 200,000 mark (it was 199,734 last Friday), approximately 0.9% of the population

See that is not too much to be scoffed at. It would sound even alot better if you only included the population of NSW, ACT and QLD (and exclude the Warriors and Storm membership numbers).

Added the other 4 clubs with their last public tallies. Also Broncos have not updated in over a week.

NRL Membership on record as of 21.03.13 = 201,350

Sydney total is 118,282 (109,534 in 2012) which is 8% growth. The broncos continue to underperform with their memberships being 25% behind their 2012 total.

I think the final total will be in the range 215-220k

I wonder if they'll do the derby deal again for the Cowboys game and add those to their total...

Does anyone think it's cheating having one game memberships to boost the membership total?

I think it was a bit of a cheap ploy to win the membership battles last year, both the Tigpies and Donks used it to great success. I think it's kind of pointless this year, how much do the clubs really get out of signing people to one game memberships

http://www.broncos.com.au/news-disp...s-Available-Early-With-Derby-Deal-Today/70095

SEATS to the much-anticipated April 12 Broncos-Cowboys clash can be locked in a week before public tickets go on sale, with the release of the Derby Deal this morning from 9am.

The 2013 Derby Deal includes ticket to the local derby against the Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium in your category choice, as well as heaps of membership benefits.

The Derby Deal costs just a few dollars more than a general admission ticket yet allows you to secure you the best possible seat seven days before tickets go on sale.

The Derby Deal was one of the biggest membership sellers of all Bronco offerings last year, with over 5000 people taking up the early offer.

From just $38 an adult and $19 for juniors, the inclusions in this membership are:

-Reserved seat in the seating area of your choice (Maroon, Blue, White) at Broncos v Cowboys on Friday 12 April, 7.30pm. Seats will be allocated into ‘best available’
-2013 Broncos membership card
-2013 Broncos member bumper sticker
-2013 Broncos member season draw magnet
-2013 Broncos member magnetic photo frame
-Two-for-one ticket offer to a Broncos home game of your choice (*Conditions apply)
-Invitation to the annual Broncos Member Day
-Member Mail subscription to receive regular updates
-10% discount at Broncos Superstore, located at Broncos Leagues Club
-Free transport to and from the game aboard any Queensland Rail train or Brisbane Transport bus

The derby deal goes on sale this Monday, March 18th, from 9am Qld time and is on sale until 5pm Sunday March 24.

Individual match tickets for the Cowboys game and all other 2013 Broncos' matches go on sale on Monday March 25 at midday.

I thinkthis explains the spike in Bronco memberships. But good on them, these 1 match members get put on a data base and the Broncs can possibly persuade them to upgrade next time. I'm sure this is what the AFL do successfully.

Reminds me of when the Lions leagues club opened up near us and offered $1 'memberships' - you don't actually get anything other than a card but they got a shitload of people's details.

Broncos facebook said they sold over 3,000 derby deal tickets on the first day but it hasn;t been added to their total (at least not yet).
