Tomic should get a set. Nadal rarely if ever plays really well round 1, always drops a set or two early in rounds 1-2.

How f**king easy do they want Djokovic's draw to be...seriously...useless Ferrer his biggest 'test' LMAO!

Wawrinka will test Djokovic

Someone gave me tickets to that, was my first professional tennis experience. Tomic fair dinkum stopped trying there. That was pathetic.

That is the main reason why he has such a bad name in professional tennis....I cannot stand the bloke.

Djokovic won't play that badly twice and I am not sure Wawrinka is playing that well this year. Last year he came into the AO in form. Just seems to be moving poorly. Could be wrong, but I have watched a lot of Wawrinka's matches as I love watching him. He was shocking at Kooyong. Everyone will say exhibition, blah, blah. However, movement shouldn't be something that is lacking.

To a point but Del Potro when on song is very hard to play. One of the biggest dangers for Rafa this week in the top half! Ridiculous draw in the top half- Del Potro, Hewitt, Fed, Rafa, Murray...

Bernard tanked that though.

I still can't get over the draw - absolutely hopeless. We'll be lucky if we have anyone progress to round 2. Pathetic!

Yeh good points, I think he will step up in a slam though.
Djokovic will win, but wawrinka will push him much more then some expect

That's a bit over the top. Hewitt will get past Seppi pretty easily. Eden, Kokkinakis and Kyrgios have very winnable matches and Matosevic and Groth should put up a fight. Groth especially if his serve is on song, Pospisil will find it hard to break him.

For the women, Stosur should win (I know she lost to her in Hobart) plus Sanders, Rogowska and Dellacqua have winnable matches

Oh I expect Warrinka to play well, just think to beat Novak movement is critical. Needs to really move well on rounds 1-2 to set himself up.

Our best 'chances' have not even been given a fair chance!

Them they are not as good as you think! Don't see Rafa whinging when he has the worst draw of the lot! If you want to be the best you have to beat them!

I'm happy because after day 3-4 then the commentary will be less like an Australian fap-a-thon

Tomorrow's schedule is up on the AO website already. As expected Nadal v Tomic is the night men's singles.

Also Hewitt and Rafter have entered in the doubles

Ummm because Hewitt asked him to play, it's actually a really smart move. It gives Hewitt an extra match or matches if he feels he needs it yet he can pull out at any time with no real consequences. If Hewitt was to team up with someone else who is still on tour and playing in the singles then whether he plays in the doubles or not is not completely up to him. The other guy may want to pull out if he continues through the singles to concentrate on that even if Hewitt is already knocked out. He shouldn't play with a doubles specialist because it will disadvantage that guys career and ranking if Hewitt makes in into the second week of the singles and wants out of the doubles.
