So who does everyone think will win the titles?
For the men: I think Nadal
For the women: hard to go past Serena

Men's bolter: Tsonga (don't think he has won a slam???)
Women's bolter: I'll say Stosur, I know she has won a slam but the way she has been playing it will be a huge effort for her to win.

Bolter (people whe never won a slam) : Definitely Wawrinka
Women: Bouchard (No chance in hell really, has some game though).

Don't like Wawrinka for this one personally. Hasn't been in the best of form lately.

Mens: Nadal or bolter Raonic - the faster courts should suit him
Womens: Serena or bolter Sloane Stephens although I think she may be carrying an injury

Has Sloane beat Serena before?

It's so frustrating watching opponents play Serena, they're either dumb or intimidated and don't hit to her weaknesses.
Not that she has many.

I'll be watching Pironkova with interest, quite talented but very unpredictable.

She beat her in the quarter finals (I think) last year. Serena was really struggling with an ankle injury though so I'm not sure you can read too much into it. Serena beat her in the lead up last year

She's a real talent though.

Jarmila Gajdosova got broken early, and now has broke back 2-3 down to Kerber at the moment. I think she'll lose though. Kerber is too good!

Robson gone, 6-3, 6-0. First elimination. Another 253 to go

It's interesting if you look at it, after today, 64 people will be on the way home, 32 men and 32 women, tomorrow, and 64 will go as round 1 finishes.

Serena & Djokovic.

I'm always pessimistic about the players I want to win (Nadal).

Kerber has dropped a gear here, she's been broken and Jarmila has held serve twice in the 2nd, Jarmila leads 3-0. I still think that Kerber will win.

WTF seriously? That ankle roll injury for Jarmila has been a turning point in this match, because since that 9 minute interval, Jarmila has held and broken twice - up 4-0 in the 2nd. If this game is pushed to 3 sets, then you can bet your bottom dollar that Kerber will pick it up!
