I he really 30? far out thought he was younger. I didn't really watch that Manly game, but thought he was one of their best last year. I'll watch him this weekend. Pretty impressive pick up either way. We need more forwards. Backs are handled.

Maybe a move away from a club like Manly would be massively beneficial to him....And every other player there!

Manly will have about 27 million free under their cap now their halves are gone. If Lawrence still has something left they can keep him, otherwise I think they're giving us their garbage.

Unless he wants to leave.

Lawrence made a stellar 38m last Friday night. In a piss weak Manly pack, he was the most piss weak

No thanks

I would be happy with Lawrance, he gets thorough some work and has good footwork and an offload. Recruiting an established forward like Lawrence would be a wise way to retain a balanced squad to support the young front rowers we have coming through. Lawrence's age does not bother me that much as I see him similar to smith as a player who was a late bloomer so he does not have as many miles in the legs compared to other forwards his age, we could get two-three years out of Lawrence which would be enough time for guys like Josh King, Luke Yates and the Sarfiti(dunno if I spelt that one right) brothers to develop into NRL footballers.

That's not a bad idea, but we have a real poor record in developing front rowers for some reason. Josh perry was probably the last good one?

Yea that has been a major problem for us but i think we are making progress in this area evidenced by the progress of Sims and Rochow. The club over the past few years seems to be putting more stock in our juniors again.

Someone asked The Lurker. This was his response

6 OF 26
@BPurser123 Knights in talks with Brenton Lawrence?? #asklurk The Lurker: He has a serious back injury which could scare clubs off. Can play when fully fit though. (Photo by Renee McKay/Getty Images)

Snowden 2.0?? depending on how bad the back injury is. Took Snowden a good couple years to get his right.

According to the Tele Gagai is off to Brisbane but we're about to re-sign Sims. Hopefully Snowy is next.

Well, it is the Tele... but I suppose everyone expects it at this point. I hope Gags stays, but at the end of the day we are spoiled for choice out wide, and the best we can hope for at the moment I think is to retain all the home grown talent. As much as he could be the difference between us having a great backline, and us having an unstoppable backline, we can cover his leaving reasonably well from within. We will get outbid by Brisbane, no doubt at all. We could have a truck full of $100 bills rammed up our coight and still be outbid by Brisbane.

I don't think Dane is so stupid to go back to Brisbane, as many seem to to think. Sure, they didn't perform in round 1... but with the Broncos clout, you can bet that Bennett will build another superteam up there. He'll keep recruiting until he's got the team he needs to win a premiership, regardless of what you think of his coaching abilities.

For me it's got absolutely nothing to do with how Brisbane might be performing, but more that during the past 3 seasons it became harder and harder to ignore the fact that Gagai simply doesn't suit the style of footy Bennett coaches. When Gagai came to the club in 2012 before Bennett had been able to get us to play his style Gagai was absolutely sensational. However the more we took on Bennett's style the more Gagai went into his shell. The moment we stopped it with the Bennett Ball last year Gagai started killing it again. I don't think that's a coinicidence.

When I've said I think it would be a shame if we went back there it's got nothing to do with us missing him (we have more than enough talent to replace him) nor is it predicting how the Broncos may perform. It's just I think it's a shame because I don't think we'll ever see Gagai's best playing under Bennett. That's not a slight at Bennett at all, but simply some players games don't suit the style some coaches like their sides to play.

If Gagai thinks that being back with Wayne and his family will bring out the best in him then that's the decision he needs to make. I wish him the best of luck. I've got nothing against him at all. He had the decency to see out his contract and has always been great with the club and fans (unlike Boyd). I just have seriously concerns that we'll ever see his best under Bennett's style as the last 3 seasons have shown us he shines when we go away from that style.

If Dane goes he is walking away from a club on the rise with talent. We play the style he thrives at. Bennett will also retire in three years.

There are a number of reasons why i'd love him to stay and a number why i won't be too pissed if he left.

Personally I'd LOVE us to keep him/Gagai decide to stay with us just so we can thumb the nose to Bennett and the Broncos. I'd like to see the Knights buck the trend of Bennett taking who he wants.

He'll have to have a good consistent year of the same defence he showed last weekend, same attack and confidence he showed to prove to me that he is has gone up another level with the freedom of the attack. That will of course come down to the collective team continually improving under Stone. One game isn't going to tell me that he is any better then his performances last couple years.

He and the team do look confident though, confident in there ability, they look like they can be a threat throughout the whole 80mins. Thats what i enjoyed them most about last weekend, even with us trailing The way they played made me feel like they could score at any moment. Good signs, hopefully they can continue it. Look forward to tomorrow night.

1. Mamo
2. Macmanus
3. Sione
4. BJ
5. Uate

Backline still looks awesome without him.

Would still like him to stay though.

I have doubts about Mamo. The best case scenario for us is one of Sione or Gagai filling the fullback role, imo.

I think Gids gets another year if Gagai leaves.

He is absolute poison in the halves or at hooker, but a 33 year old gidley offers more at fullback than mamo imo.

Problem is if Gidley stays around I think Mamo will walk. Although I think Gidley is the better option now he's old and injury prone and we'd lose Mamo who could protentially develop into a great fullback for maybe 1 more year of Gidley. I'd re-sign Mamo and if he's not ready at the start of the year we still have Sione or Ross that can play there.

Defense maybe. Attack no f**king way. Mamo has speed and instincts that Gidley can only dream about
